The fact that this drama doesn't slide over the awkwardness of a relationship at it's beginning is so sweet. And the fact that Jin Shim and Jong Rok are so excited and working so hard is the best thing ever. I love this drama so much!
Another strong episode. They keep developing the side characters as well, which is another strong suit of the drama.
The chicken scene was amazing and I really loved the development of female friendship over the ramyun. Also, there are so many potential couples to root for, it makes me very happy.
My neighbours definitely hate me after episode 14. I screamed for the last 5 minutes of it. I need to take a step back and not be so invested in it... Yeah, right, that's impossible!
You nailed it. Haseon is someone who wanted to gain power due to the injustice he experienced as a lowly commoner.…
I agree with what you both said.
And I also have to applaud to this drama - it actually uses communication in the right way. It was very important for both Ha Seon and the Chief Royal Secretary to have that conversation and not leave anything out. The overall theme of sharing the burdens (with the queen, with Chief Royal Secretary and others) is what makes Ha Seon a great king. He has compassion and a very strong moral compass.
Ha Seon is being really scary as well. I am afraid he is losing himself to the power in his hands.
I would like to make an excuse, that the others are pushing his buttons, but I'm afraid that he might be swayed by the power a little, just like you said. It was also interesting how the Chief Royal Secretary checked how was Ha Seon feeling about his decision - he might suspect something of this nature as well.
Ha Seon is getting a bit reckless, my palms are sweating watching these episodes. The scenes with the queen and Ha Seon finding out about the infertility were heartbreaking.
The scene where they shared the past mishaps in relationships was so sweet and it broke my heart a bit. Loving the female friendships in this drama though.
This drama totally shines in that the high points lift you totally up and the low points hit you hard. I laughed so much at the exchange in the kitchen after the udon place - both Lee Na Young and Lee Jong Suk were excellent, their chemistry is on fire. And when they said the Da Ni's name is not going to be printed, oh man, I almost cried whit her. Da Ni, fighting! I am rooting for her very much! She's got this!
Second episode was definitely stronger than the first one. I love Yoo In Na's character, such potential - she continuously shows that she isn't just a one sided character and I'm really looking forward to seeing what is underneath it all and were the scandals about. Side characters are also great, some great ships are forming already. I am really excited about this one!
What a strong start! I really love the theme for Da Ni's character - re-entering the job market after a longer break is such a huge topic world-wide. I am rooting for her so much!
How are they still competing for the biggest antagonist? I would slap the nanny after these episodes - manipulating a child this way?! Also, Min Yu Ra has some broken logic and keeps blaming others for everything. It's getting on my nerves. I am still very entertained by this drama, though. Shin Sung Rok surprises me every week, what a great actor. Btw, his Instagram is the funniest thing, you should check it out.
I still feel that the stalker plot line is unfinished, he might come back. Otherwise, what has that build up been for?
Also, the office manager is just the best. I love him!
