Wow ! You just summarised what I’ve been “thinking without really thinking it” haha. For me I’d say it’s been a long time since dramas look like they changed and they don’t give the same feels, but this past 2 years have really been kind of empty for me. I used to watch a lot of Korean dramas (started with Japanese ones in 2011 and Korean in 2012) but now there’s maybe only a 1/3 that seem interesting (the guest, life on Mars, the first two seasons of Arthdal Chronicles, memories of the Alhambra, etc.) I’m really liking Chinese dramas tho, (like you, I can marathon a 40 or 50 episodes drama without any problems) and I feel like they are being more and more creative with a really good quality. I miss good Japanese dramas- I feel that there are still very good Japanese dramas/movies, but they take a long time to get subbed and I end up forgetting about them (or they just aren’t subbed at all) So, yeah. Thanks for your article! I love your style and humour, and I totally agree with what you said
It took me two year to finally start it because I’m not really into romance, but in the end I quite like it. I’m at episode 5 and it’s starting to be slightly repetitive, but until there it has been very sweet and funny- I’d say watch this when you come home from a long day at work and you want a light japanese rom-com :) Also Kame and Yamapi definitively should act together again haha
The manhua is one of my fave Manhua and probably one of my first ones as well, so it has a special place in my heart. Now that I’ve seen Xiao Zhan in The Untamed, I’m reaaaaally looking forward to it!!!
Maybe what they’re doing is splitting the story in half. One entire episode for Tagon, and one for Eunsom’s side of the story? And then the ending will be when both reunite ? Idk.
also who decided that developing saya and tanya like that and then having her run back to eun som when they haven't…
You said it all!! Xabara And her tribe could have had an entire season for themselves (with for example a part with eunsom ) and it wouldn’t have bothered me at all. I thought raising an army was very interesting because of how they made Eunsom realise what power really is/mean in arthdal, but now they don’t even speak about that anymore. And you’re totally right about Saya- he’s here, but he’s not here. (I don’t think they’re gonna kill him tho) and OMGGGGG I totally forgot about the horse, when it’s what actually made me watch the show....! I think they’re just gonna make a very very epic ending and they don’t want to arrive there “too early”, but idk, I don’t like it :/

Totally agree with everything you said. Up until the end of season 2 I thought it would be fine but they’re literally making a mess, introducing new characters (and not developing them, which is a pity), while leaving others totally undeveloped. And wtf are they doing with Tanya-Saya-Eunsom?? Their relationship had soooo much potential and now everything’s just gonna be rushed :/
It was fine until now but with episode 15 I’m kinda disappointed. They built Eun som’s story very well, started the first season with his story and now it’s like he’s not even a main character anymore. Tagons’s story and everything that happened was interesting but after the cliffhanger of episode 14 I was waiting for more... I hope they will have the time to develop more Xabara and Eunsom’s way of raising an army. I wish they would do another season because right now everything feels rushed, but they probably won’t, so.... :/
Ep 31 is just WOW (32 as well). Some episodes before were kinda dragging a bit ( I mean, there was a lot of talking) but were still very interesting. I think the last 10 episodes are gonna be really good! In terms of feels, I’d easily give this drama a 10/10
Watched it twice already, and I’m already coming back here thinking about watching it a third time. A really interesting movie, and Ito Kentaro is perfect in that role!

And Rurouni Kenshin is such a beautiful movie!!
