Thank you for taking the time to read my review! I completely agree with you everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I can’t believe some people will stoop so low because they dislike a drama 😭.

I love your review it’s so detailed and well-written, and I agree with your likes and dislikes 🤍. It’s been a while since I last checked this page, but a friend mentioned there’s an argument happening here. I have no idea what these people are on about, lol so chaotic!

I don't think there was much to dislike about her character, except for some things she said in the past.
Your point makes sense. Now that I think of it, she did have her flaws, and I believe she did apologize when she got lost in the woods, but we could have gotten more from that moment. And yes, I did briefly think she was getting intimate with him until the guy confessed that he’s gay. It also wasn’t the dad’s fault here, but I’m glad she softened toward him in the end.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment! I completely agree watching this drama is like immersing ourselves in a beautiful story. It’s wonderful to hear how much you connected with the lead couple; their chemistry really makes them feel real. I also loved the blend of healing moments with humor; it strikes such a perfect balance! It’s great that you found so many joyful moments amidst the sadness. Love Next Door truly left a lasting impression, and I’m glad it’s one of your all time favorites too 😊

Regarding Bae Seokryu, I’ve seen a comment calling her foolish for certain decisions, like staying in the U.S. after being diagnosed with cancer or not realizing the male lead’s feelings before she left. However, I don't agree with the idea that she's foolish. Her choices weren’t about foolishness but reflected someone who was overwhelmed by their circumstances. Flawed characters like her should be understood even when less perspective is shown. She made mistakes, yes, but they mirrored how people in vulnerable situations don’t always think rationally. Her decision to rely on her fiancé instead of her parents wasn’t an easy one. After all, hiding a life-threatening illness from her loved ones showed how difficult it was for her to accept her reality.

The complex emotional dynamics between the female lead (FL) and male lead (ML) highlighted their struggles with love and personal growth. The FL’s acceptance of another's proposal and her emotional turmoil at the airport revealed her internal conflict between societal expectations and true desires, emphasizing her journey of self-discovery and resilience. The ML's hesitance to express his feelings added depth to his character, reflecting the universal struggle with vulnerability.

Some viewers found it challenging to understand Seokryu, the FL, since she didn't outwardly display as much affection as the ML. However, love and chemistry manifest differently for each person. While the ML was more expressive, Seokryu's reserved nature stemmed from her personal struggles, such as illness and career instability. This didn't mean she cared less; rather, she expressed love in her own way.

Relationships often involve uneven emotional expressions, especially during tough times. If Seokryu had been the one openly loving while the ML faced challenges, she might have been criticized for being insensitive. The differing ways they expressed love complemented each other, creating a nuanced and realistic dynamic rather than suggesting one-sided chemistry.

Here’s a comment I shared previously when we were discussing relationship dynamics.

This drama was one I had been eagerly awaiting, but with little expectation. It took me by surprise 😭😭 and I really wish we could see the leads together in another project, even if it’s a movie.

I liked that the leads didn’t get together on time because the ex storyline made sense. From the second half on, I continued to enjoy the drama without getting bored, but I really wished we saw more of Dongin and Nayeon, it felt like the writer was developing something for them. We talk more about the leads, but I loved the female friendship between Seokryu and Moeum they remind me of the girlies from "Business Proposal"

Love Next Door really excelled in capturing something deeper than just romance. It was a healing drama, focusing on emotional recovery, overcoming personal wounds, and slowly finding love again. The chemistry between the characters felt genuine, and even the slower pacing made sense because it allowed the story to develop naturally. It isn’t your typical high-energy romance, but that’s what makes it stand out for those who appreciate subtle emotional depth.

I must say, the ending left me with mixed feelings. It felt like a conclusion, yet also a new beginning for the characters. The way it wrapped up made sense, even though some viewers were eager to see the wedding. I appreciate that the decision to delay it allowed for a more meaningful journey ahead. It was a thoughtful choice that aligned with the show’s overall themes of emotional growth and healing.

At its core, Love Next Door was about family, flawed people who need healing, and the reconciliation of friendships and Love. It’s a good slice-of-life and healing drama. I plan to write a review and share some of my comments about the relationship dynamics.

@PKR I won’t continue this argument with you because you clearly don’t understand her, and at this point, it’s pointless to explain.

I’ve been quiet, but I’ve noticed something off after reading the comments from the past few days, and the person seems suspicious. Unfortunately, it feels like mdl won’t take action. Happy watching! I really don’t want this drama to end, but sadly, nothing lasts forever. I’ll definitely write a review for it! ❤️
