The protests against this drama are not about taking down Jisoo or Jung Haein. There are valid reasons this drama…
I heard that the production team meet the group (Global Citizen Declaration) and already apologise w the misunderstanding. They also make an attempt to meet w the Democratic foundation as well but it was unsuccessful. It's very weird to avoid the meet up. If anything, you should face the problems and solve it instead of running away isn't it? The PO (korean) is changing their perspective on this. If anything, we should hear from both sides rather than judge and make assumptions. Here, the production team want to take things srsly and clear the misunderstanding and also asked for a an advice( if there's any) . Do u really think it just actors that involve? If u watch this drama, you wil see how big scale they put on, in this one. There's so many party that involve in making this drama. Sponsors, hundreds of staff, students, props (the University, soldiers and their things , protesters, the background settings) and there's even a character that not appear yet. If now we are breaking up's budget is 8.69 billion won, imagine the budget they put for this drama. Ofc they should do their best to protect and clear the mess that start bcs of misunderstanding. Unlike joseon exorcist, which they immediately cancelled bcs there's chinese props that hv been used for the drama (as we know that there's heat up going around about chinese claim some of korean culture as theirs). The focus of this drama also abt the politic not the movement. At this point, everyone who watch sd already know what happen in June Struggle 1987. Here, if u still insisted that this drama distorted the history https://twitter.com/ruvirtual/status/1473085838518935554?t=k2RKTWqmG-0lXQ1Dw9BEZw&s=19

I think because a lot of international are from Asia, they are responding as if it was their own cultural history…
I'm asian and even my grandparent work as soldier back then. I don't know much abt it but we know what happen by learning history. Ikr, people act aggressively to human rights even they are not ffrom that country. That's it but the thing I don't really understand, there's an event that still happening out there w between countries-conflict, human rights ( uyghur, Is-Pal, Ind-Pak, Afg). But ppl keep talking abt history distortion that nowhere to be found in the drama when there's still real life event that happen and ppl don't gv a damn abt it. There are even a movies that portrayed certain organization and misleading viewers by stating wrong fact that lead to racism and so but signing a petition? Ftr, by now everyone who are watch and abt to watch sd already know the history. Some knetz said one of the reason they want this drama to stop airing is bcs they afraid that intl will get wrong idea abt NSA and student protestor. Some said they want to cancel it bcs of the misleading of history and the pain when in fact they just use 80s setting in this drama. This is freedom of expression and POV, there's nothing to do w real-life event. Don't tell me I don't understand the pain of others when my twitter acc even get suspend for fighting and defending by sharing tweets for human rights that happen this year . Our family also took part in donation for the victims since 2014. Every year, our school will hold a forum talking abt human rights in other countries. For 20 years hearing the same thing abt human rights and what happen in the world. I'm well aware and I know.

Actually applying controversy strategy is not really working as ppl nowadays mostly are educated and can tell what's good and wrong but it indeed gain popularity however it will look ugly from credibility aspect. People said 'BAD publicity is GOOD publicity' while in fact, 'bad publicity will remain as BAD publicity' and these writer and directors obviously know these term as they hv been work in this industry for many years. Older generation hv more experience and know the consequences of using cheap strategy as they hv been going through the early phases. Using cheap strategy will only harm the production. This drama use history as background setting same goes to other drama. A Taxi driver, youth of may, mr sunshine, the old golden etc.

They will open real-time chat and discussion so that everyone will see what this drama js is actually about. They also explained and answered one by one knetz question. This problem actually just between korean but i don't understand why intl so noisy as if they are the victim and know all abt korean history. It's only 2 episode but the amount of assumptions just ridiculous. After all this mess, I believe one thing for sure. Even after these explanation, there still people choose to be ignorant and find any hole in this drama. At the end of the day, what u think and felt from the beginning is how you feel when its all over.

Titanic is offensive for those who survived the sinking of the ship, gladiator is offensive for those who survived a fight with a lion in an area, marley & me is offensive for those who had a dog but it died, every war movie is offensive for people who were in one, at this point everything is fucking offensive lol. Did ppl actually make a big fuss over this and what? Signed a petition? Even till day, there's still a movie out there potraying certain organization as a bad one when they are clearly not! War between Pal-Israel, pak-ind, iran-us , Afghanistan etc Ppl out there still living in trauma and faced with racism, bcs of what happen and still happen rn. They hv been fighting for over 74 years for their land till this day while media labelled them as a bad one. Am I'm not aware what happen now? Being insensitive? Everyone for now, already know the history of June Stuggle thanks to sd and aware that NSA is actually a bad agency back then. I'm very understand what is happening even though I never experience it but my parents hv been exposing us to what happen with our brother and sister that still struggling and fighting for freedom until now. But this is def a very different situation. What hv been potray in the drama very much far what u guys assume it to be. Nothing is sure for know what is soo ho claimed to be and again this is purely a drama. Like youth of may (gwangju uprising), which also a drama for entertainment purpose. No one make fuss abt and why is that? Isn't it also a history make into drama? Isn't there's also a victim? So basically ppl just want writers potrayed NSA more brutal and cruel. They want to see a gore side of NSA that's why they can't accept that NSA in that drama look a bit soft? Isn't jeong min already said in that drama that NSA claimed student protester as a communist? That's not enough to convince viewer? There's 14 episode more. They should wait then.

No one make fun. It's freedom of expression and idea. The one who see this as fun is fans who doing petition like it was such a big matter that going to crushing the whole nation. Every drama/movie is only entertainment purpose. If u want to learm history or politic and so, go watch documentary or parliament. Pearl harbour, dunkirk, seal team six, darkest hour, the imitation game etc also distorted history by making slight and major changes and what make it worse there's even some movies that potrayed certain organisation as a bad /good one when they just feeds media by gving false info (ISIS, Taliban, IDF, HAMAS etc ) even it till happen these days and no western media speak up abt it and even UN just gv silent abt that matter. There's still ppl who are alive till this day during that era, their grandfather, their parents, family etc. Back then when I was 11, My father once said that, the history that they portrayed on that movie is false (pearl harbour) but then he said 'it just a movie. I know the real event and what's happening during that era.' so he told me the history and what's actually happen. He said if I want to know more, just read it on google. It end there. So what the fuss is actually about eh?

I don't see any connection between the article and my comment. Could u please enlighten me๐Ÿ™ƒ. As far as I understand, the article is talking abt china and korea market in buying content. China buy a content from korea to put in their platform. There's chinese letter in korean content which seems weird to them as it not smthg usual in their daily basis (but then isn't korean also learning chinese letter and idioms?) bcs lately chinese seems to claim korean culture originally come from theirs?
