It's a bait, Rongcheng is a bait into something we have all seen but are seeing again with another fresh take, once you catch the bait you cant go out, but I don't think you boarded the train with a lot of us. It's not dragged, it's not slow or we saw each other and fell in love kind of thing, the PACE is what kept me hooked atleast.

Just my POV but I think drugging him was consequence of her fear. And that fear arises from her concern for him and the tent scene.... was similar but that arose from his concern, from his side what he can see is her putting up a dangerous act dragging the heir apparent infront of the enemies to bait, but all of that would have gone wrong if he wasn't there to back her up with his forces, the scene ends with him charging towards the enemies and the Butcher gang getting out of the way with the food, basically she dragged herself into trouble and he put that scene up to keep her away from such drastic measures. Both of them cooked each other but the concern>>>
