She's so complex it makes my head hurt but I also enjoy seeing her working around it.
She is indeed intriguing and a quite interesting character. It’s also my first time watching a borderline schizophrenic female lead in a historical drama😂
So from what I’ve gathered, YeLi is somewhat the sole survivor of a massacre at Lishan Academy and is therefore suffering from hallucinations/scizophrenia because she is refusing to fully accept the reality. Qingshuang is also one of her hallucinations but at times also a reflection of what she herself is truly feeling. So like both a hallucination, coping mechanism and part of herself too all at the same time. I find it quite interesting though that she does seem to be somewhat of the reality seen by the way she has kept all those letters in a box. She is a quite interesting character. Not just the typical Mary Sue I think.
After watching the first four episodes this feels somewhat like a short drama but lengthy. I think my expectations might also have been too high but I’ll continue to watch nevertheless since it’s stil pretty good. The acting is also superb. Zhou Yiran and Chen Duling are both doing such a great job with their characters.
I see a lot of discussions on the change of the title. I liked MoLi too but I feel like the new title is also quite befitting. Heard that the sound of “moli” in Chinese is similar to the characters for the word meaning jasmine in Chinese…
Ending felt somewhat rushed but I’m glad that Gu Jinzhao continued to be strong and contributed to the victory unlike many other dramas where the FL’s suddenly turn out to be very weak after they get married
