lol i thought he lied about the tour concerts being cancelled. But I thought it was somewhat realistic that there…
I see your point of view and thanks for the reply!
I agree it's realistic that a celebrity must spend some time away from his girlfriend because of the nature of his work, but a court case like that one isn't something that happens suddenly or out of the blue. They both knew for a long time that she was going to do it and they could have planned it for a time when it would be possible for La Ik to be present.
To me, it was implied that they had no contact during the tour. She said that she misses him and she was watching videos with a sad expression lol
Now that I think about it, the tour could be shorter than a year, because during that year Gold Boys signed with new company, prepared new songs, planned the tour etc. So it could be a few months. Which makes me even more disappointed that they didn't plan a break in the tour for La Ik to be present during the trial lol (or at least started the tour later, or started the trial earlier, or something like that)
I know she encouraged him to return to idol life and I absolutely see your point, but again it's "her supporting him" (as she did again and again during the show) and I think we didn't have enough examples of "him supporting her", maybe that's my main problem with the relationship and drama's ending
reading previous comments, I guess I'm the only one who didn't really like the ending... probably because I enjoyed ep. 1-10 sooo much that the disappointment from ep. 11-12 was equally big :(
I didn't like the time jump... I didn't like that he wasn't there for her during the trial - he literally just showed up after the trial because "luckily" some tour concerts were cancelled, not because he made an effort to be there. Chung Jae was there, even the prosecutor (former bully!) was there, but literally not her boyfriend. I can't believe that "hearing his song and watching youtube videos of him" was as comforting as him being there and supporting her in person during the whole process (not only the trial). She supported him every time he needed it in the past.
And I absolutely can't believe that he "couldn't" call her during the tour??? Wtf??? It was shown multiple times that idols can hide a lot of their private life, so seriously calling her while he was alone at the hotel wouldn't ruin his career! Then he shows up in front of the court with many reporters, basically confirming their relationship! And then we learn their relationship is publicly known anyway! So why did he never call her during the tour and why she had to find comfort only in watching youtube videos of her boyfriend?!
I like that the last episode was a happy one, basically everyone had their redemption arc, we had many cute moments, but ep. 11 + big time jump was generally a disappointment for me.
Based on ep. 12 preview, it looks like La Ik will be on tour while Se Na fights for justice for her father. If that's really how it goes, I'll be sooo angry!
Going through the trial in her father's case would be the most emotionally challenging and stressful thing for Se Na ever, and she'll have no support from La Ik, even though she's always been there for him whenever he needed it!
Hye Joo cleaning the floor with a cloth in one hand while touching the floor with the other hand and leaving fingerprints everywhere π (facepalm!!!)
and what was she cleaning anyway lol? footprints make no sense, as she's walking around in socks and walks through that path multiple times later. And there's no blood or anything else between the door and Woo Song's body
and it's just one of a million plot holes (the other plot holes were already pointed out by commenters below), ep. 11 was really a mess π I'm sooo disappointed π
Even though I want the leads to be together eventually, I think it would be too soon if they started their relationship now (and based on ep. 10 preview it won't happen yet). For now, although La Ik is a super nice person, 99% of the time it was Se Na who cared about him. So it'd look like he fell in love with her because she was taking care of him "like a kid" (hopefully you know what I mean... Obviously he needed that help in these terrible circumstances and it's totally understandable, but still - it's not a good base for a romantic relationship).
So I think in the next episodes, where Se Na will be having a difficult time, it would be a chance for La Ik to show her that he also cares about her and is ready to support her when things get hard.
They both helped each other heal from the past, so when we see they equally support each other in the present and stand by each other's side no matter what, the romantic relationship will come naturally
I usually don't like the childhood connection trope in k-dramas, it often seems forced. But it was done really well in this drama and so beautifully explained in the park scene, love it!
I'm sure yellow color is intentional, it's now like an inside joke in k-dramas π but this time the roles are reversed and it's FL saving ML from the rain! Love it!
This is a very interesting take! I see it kinda differently, and I actually like how their relationship is portrayed.…
yeah I totally get it, it's just the only example I can think of where the leads don't end up together, but overall it wasn't a good k-drama π happy to help and thanks for reply π

I really like this idea (but not for this k-drama lol, I still hope FL & ML end up together) but if you're looking for this kind of writing, there is a k-drama "Love Alarm"...
...and below will be SPOILERS FROM K-DRAMA "LOVE ALARM" In this k-drama FL actually ends up with SML instead of ML! But what's funny to me is that "Love alarm" was criticised exactly for the ending where leads didn't end up together, despite the fact that ML was a huge red flag and SML was a huge green flag. However it's a very slow k-drama and characters aren't likeable in my opinion (apart from SML of course) so I don't know if it's worth watching lol
This is my all time favourite k-drama, it's a perfect rom-com π both FL and ML are huge green flags (like walking green forests!) and they have one of the healthiest relationships in k-drama land. And it's SOOO FUNNY (but not in a cheesy or tacky way), my stomach hurts from laughing every time I watch it! Highly recommend!! π₯°
Finished Episode 5, and their relationship is progressing too quickly for me. I donβt know itβs not clicking…
This is a very interesting take! I see it kinda differently, and I actually like how their relationship is portrayed. For me it isn't a fangirl living her fantasy in reality, but rather a fangirl having a serious reality check. When she first saw him at the police station, she was shocked by his behaviour, talking so terribly about his fans, shouting etc. She also says in some earlier episode that she wished she could go back to the time when she didn't know him personally. And that if she could go back in time, she would rather stay away from the case and continue to like him freely from a distance. And in some later episode she tells her friend that Laik is rude, self-centered and annoying.
For me she really does separate the "idol Laik" and the "human Laik", and at the beginning she's disappointed that they are so different. But now I think she's slowly starting to like and appreciate the human, real Laik.
I agree with the relationship progressing quickly, I was really surprised when it was quite obvious he's already in love with her in ep. 5! But I guess that the formula of k-dramas now, it's only 12 episodes so everything must happen quickly π I wish k-dramas were longer like they used to be around 2016-2019, when we had 16 or even 20 episodes so there was more time for build-up
Help, can someone explain Sena's father case? He was murdered in the prison? I don't get it (;_;)
The Sena's father case wasn't entirely explained yet, so far we know that he was wrongfully accused of murder and that it was staged that way for some reason by old prosecutor (young prosecutor's father). It wasn't explained how he died in prison, but from what I understand, he most probably committed su*cide. I think it was after young Sena's last visit, when he asked her "if I said I didn't do it, would you believe me?" and young Sena couldn't bring herself to say "I believe you". Then Sena's dad understood that no one believes him, even his own daughter, so he took his own life in prison. And that's why Sena blames herself now and wants so much to be the only one who believes in Laik. However this is only my understanding from the ep. 6, it wasn't literally stated yet what happened to him
I soooo hope she will tell him the whole story, that he saved her and that's why she became a fan, even before he was famous. Because I think that would be a great proof for him that she isn't like the others and he can truly trust her (besides the fact that he ALREADY HAVE so much examples that he can trust her). But I'm afraid she will feel so guilty that she will just say she's an "ordinary fan" and he will be angry for long :(((
and on the side note, I actually really like how they portrayed him feeling betrayed by her. Considering his previous behaviour, I expected he would storm out and shout etc., because he always reacted that way for betrayal (for ex. with his mum, with the bandmates), but here instead he just look completely broken and sad. And I think it really shows that he actually IS in love with her, so her lie didn't make him angry but sad. I think this reaction shows his love much better than for ex. what happened in "Dynamite Kiss", where ML was so nasty towards FL and then was getting revenge on her in terrible way at work, I dropped that drama because I hated that.
Anyway I hope Se-na and La-ik will make up quickly!!
