I don't understand what people were expecting from Li Rong with her being a PRINCESS!!!She wanted to love her husband in their previous life but he decided to back her brother who ended up killing SRQ's entire family! She's the less emotional and more logical type and very suitable for politics if only she wasn't a woman...I absolutely loved her!
To be fair, in this context, she almost kissed him while he was sleeping so I don’t find this an issue where…
Um..no, I did not label you a gaslighter based on one occasion of gaslighting. In any case, matters of consent are probably appreciated by those who are or may be affected by lack of it or at least care about others getting affected.

I just highlighted the very grim consequences of not understanding consent and the impact that it actually has in real life and you're somehow making it out like it's overthinking, classic gaslighting..you can still enjoy the drama and still talk about serious shortcomings that shouldn't be swept under the rug

She would have been wrong at that time too, two wrongs don't make it right. Yes they had known each other but not with that sort of relationship. So would it still have been ok if she said let's sleep together whilst intoxicated?
I am thoroughly enjoying this drama as I'm a fan of both leads and their chemistry is to die for! But why oh why do producers/directors allow scenes that depict a clear lack of understanding of consent in this day and age??? A sober male kissing a drunk girl is a no-no or vice versa. This is important because young girls will put themselves in danger hoping that their guy will act like they do in dramaland.... whereas guys in real life would SA them and turn around and say they asked for it. MOST men in real life don't know when to STOP. They will NOT safely take you home to your parents and just call it a day.
They just ruined their first kiss for me and I was so looking forward to it. We need to see an improvement regarding this especially in cdrama.
Had to come back and rewatch my girl Su ZaiZai whilst waiting for new episodes of The First Frost. She's my most favourite character due to her confidence
This only needed 12 episodes tops. I love LJ and somehow I couldn't stop watching even though the plot was sub par. As such, there was a lot of skipping as much of the scenes were overly repetitive and I couldn't careless abt some of the other characters storylines. I love LJ's outfits and styling in this because sometimes I have no idea what the stylists will be smoking in some of the Asian dramas.
I can never get used to HYT's acting tbh though it seemed to match his character here. That's what took me long to watch it.
If you like melodrama with misunderstandings though thankfully no messy triangles then it's for you
I really enjoyed watching this though I'm not a fan of how the ending did not resolve the issues they had in the…
Man who do nothing and put the most minimal effort in a marriage are just overgrown babies who should leave women alone smh. Then have the nerve to say 'that divorce came out of nowhere 😭. I didn't cheat so therefore I did nothing wrong' gtfoh. Women put up with the gaslighting for too long
I really enjoyed watching this though I'm not a fan of how the ending did not resolve the issues they had in the marriage. I guess they still continued to live with his parents and he continued being a mommy's boy. It was all fun and games when they thought daughter in law was infertile making her all those horrible concoctions and telling everyone about her business....until it was the son!!! Seriously, where did that energy go??
I ended up being unsure of the message the writer intended because whichever way I look at it the woman actually deserved to be with a better man or alone and the husband could actually adopt his colleagues son...that would have been a win-win in my books.
I knew the pharmacist was going to turn out to be 'nice to everyone' 😆🤣
As a woman whos been married for 15 years, I would have divorced her husband. Being 'cute' some of the times is just not enough to uphold a marriage. Now I'm riled up because the bar for men is too low.....girl, your man is not even a provider, cant say no, he's just dead weight at this point. You're probably better off alone!!!
This is not the type of drama where you can just say it was a sad/happy ending...how can any ending be happy when those last 3 episodes were from hell itself...after all that sadness I couldn't possibly have found the ending 'happy'.
In my view they both need to mature in their relationship (ZanRan). Ran has never been close to anyone in her life and that includes her family so she saw Zan as 'her saviour in love' and wanted to lean on him for love and support. There's seemingly nothing wrong with that but not many can bear that responsibility. In her mind she thought it'd be 2-way somehow.....but from Zan's pov, she came across as someone who he should care for and protect but not as an equal partner but rather the same way he would protect anyone if they needed him. He saved her the first time they met! If he saw Ran as his special partner he would have at least confided in her rather than alienate her from everything that's been going on. Protecting is part of his job/personality, and his PTSD stems from 'failing to protect a brother'...makes me wonder if he ever really loved Ran or just him doing the thing that he knows best: protecting! He didn't have an issue with leaving Ran in China because in his head she's out of danger so therefore she needs him less. The other people need him more!
Does Ran need to mature, yes! And so does Zan and his perspective on a relationship. He doesn't need to bear everything himself, Ran is actually strong and capable of handling it.
I appreciate Liang Jie for always bringing her A game to kissing and skinship scenes. She's honestly one of the few chinese actresses who is not passive in affectionate scenes. I admit both their styling isn't the best in this show but I sort of get what the production was going for.
Not many so called romance dramas show this much affection then people complain there's not enough romance. When they give us this amount of affectionate scenes people always have something to complain about smh. Some viewers can handle it so please let us revel in their love for a little while given all the trauma surrounding them
Word of caution to lovely new viewers who have just discovered this masterpiece.....JCW was a young actor among a veteran cast meaning that his role may not be what you envision.. As long as you keep an open mind you'll still appreciate his acting. Just don't expect him to be doing heroic stuff like in his other action dramas.
Empress Ki was the main character of this drama therefore Ha Ji Won was the main star
Can someone recommend me some good Liang Jie dramas? It's my first drama with her and I absolutely love her acting!…
I loved her in the Eternal love series as well as The day of becoming you. They're all lighthearted dramas though if you like a bit of comedy and romance
I had already come to accept the show's low quality production but that White olive tree mirage sent me 🤣 . I'll still watch it for the leads since I didn't get enough of the pairing in Handsome Siblings. Waited too long for this😅
Of course I hated SRQ with a passion

In any case, the cast made it worth watching
Marriage contract- This one is an oldish kdrama but it definitely made me cry
