I really loved this drama and still a decent rewatch. I love the aesthetic that the producers were going for. The chilled laid back storytelling without huge dramatic scenes is actually my thing. The chemistry between the leads was electric and they kept great eye contact throughout the show. It makes total sense that there was no grand love confession because their actions spoke louder than words.
They found each other irresistible once they got close. They only had eyes for each other. They walked hand in hand at every opportunity, my heart is full🌝. There were few kissing scenes but their closeness more than made up for it.
Did I mention how absolutely devine ZLH and JT looked in this, the makeup and wardrobe did an amazing job.

The writing's reminding me of 2014 melodramas and amnesia is the only thing missing from this.
It's making floral envoy look really bad being a flippant non committal flirt.
Irrelevant people making a big impact on plot direction is just lazy writing tbh.
Writers need to decide what their characters need to be because they seemed to have great communication and now all of a sudden they don't say the important things...aaarghhh so exhausting

This is the sort of drama where 'slight romance' tag would be most appropriate. I know ppl in the comments like to gaslight those who are disappointed when they can't find the 'romance' that was tagged...to future watchers interested I would say this drama is 99,9% sad and angsty and 0,1% happy (and that's in the last 4 mins).

Had a very confusing message where adults basically create problems then gaslight kids who have been forced to deal with the complex emotional fallout, blaming them for getting 'involved in things they don't fully understand!!!!'.

I love both leads in other dramas but will not rewatch this

Eish, should have read reviews before watching. As a self professed lover of romance, I was flabbergasted when we were robbed of that first kiss scene. What kind of director accepts to shoot a romance drama where the basics aren't allowed. I'm dissapointed, off to watch AASOL!

I was quite enjoying this until those horrible subtitles in ep 13 on Iqiyi...Its like watching a different show.

I totally agree. Romance was tagged as a major genre and only removed once drama finished airing. That's catfishing at best! Don't mind the gaslighters. If a genre is majorly tagged I expect to see aspects of it in a satisfactory maner. If it was adequate there would be no need to change it to Slight romance then

Exactly, the point was to ensure that the brother didn't end up being forced to marry the woman he didn't love which is why she ended up having an affair in the first place. He was far from being King material anyway.

I don't understand what people were expecting from Li Rong with her being a PRINCESS!!!She wanted to love her husband in their previous life but he decided to back her brother who ended up killing SRQ's entire family! She's the less emotional and more logical type and very suitable for politics if only she wasn't a woman...I absolutely loved her!

Um..no, I did not label you a gaslighter based on one occasion of gaslighting. In any case, matters of consent are probably appreciated by those who are or may be affected by lack of it or at least care about others getting affected.

I just highlighted the very grim consequences of not understanding consent and the impact that it actually has in real life and you're somehow making it out like it's overthinking, classic gaslighting..you can still enjoy the drama and still talk about serious shortcomings that shouldn't be swept under the rug

She would have been wrong at that time too, two wrongs don't make it right. Yes they had known each other but not with that sort of relationship. So would it still have been ok if she said let's sleep together whilst intoxicated?
