I think he means Lou Ben, LY's brother - it's implied it's him who contacted LBY. The Grand Tutor wants his own sons to become officials, not the second branch's sons. He has thus prevented LB to become an official, and now LB is going outside his family to try - thus backstabbing the Grand Tutor.
