There really is so many flaws to this script lol! 1. Xiamu is a rookie but never seems to have anything to do (as he is always investigating this case) lol! 2. They were only officially allowed to investigate this case at ep. 14, yet they have had minimal real cases leading up to this. 3. ZLY’s character also has time to do whatever she wants, yet has a full time job also lol! 4. They know ZLY’s character tried to frame the innocent meat worker, yet when they found out her dad was alive, there are absolutely no consequences. Let’s be real, she would be in jail.
There’s so much more, but let’s see how this pans out. In terms of intrigue and keeping viewers engaged, this script is doing a good job. But in terms of a realistic serial killer investigation, this is the most amateur production I’ve seen in a long time.

Completely agree. People keep saying they have a similar vibe when they really don't. You can definitely tell that this was directed by the same director as Yanxi Palace - it's bright and lively. 6 episodes a week is also a plus! haha

haha! You totally make sense! Same director so it does have a similar feel . I love that about directors, they have a certain style so you can always see similarities in their work ;)

I'm the same. I think the synopsis and the number of episodes put me off every time I attempt to watch lol!!! I too am really enjoying this. I like that they don't fall in love instantly, it makes it so much more realistic.

Agree with your comments 100%. I have not watched Soul Land nor do I have any background about the original material, and I found this a bit disappointing as I hoped for better fight scenes for the entire team. I do think XZ is a talented actor, so I really wished the script gave him more to work with, as with the other team members.

Definitely don't think the casting was right with XW either. I would be happier if they just stayed siblings but she's already tried to kiss him and gets jealous so there's no going back lol!!! Didn't think XZ could lack chemistry with a co-star until now.

I feel exactly the same. A bit of a let down. I also think Tang San has more chemistry with Hu Lie Na than Wu lol! Maybe because Wu acts like a clingy naive sister most of the time lol sigh.

Completely agree! I'm still dirty that she keeps Prince An so close and has never thought back to her Master asking her to stay away from him several times. She hasn't even suspected him which pisses me off hahah.
I'm confused, how is the overall rating only 8.9 when nearly every review is 9.5 or 10?? Literally only 2 reviews were below 9. I think you need to adjust your telly as I for one, look at the overall review before I watch a series. If it's below 9 I don't bother. LAR is definitely a 10 :)
