I just don't think ZNN is the type of couple to pull off this kind of show. They give me soft vibes and fit softer shows, just like I simply don't feel like a couple like MileApo can pull off something like Cutie Pie. Them and JesBible are better suited for grittier shows.

On the other hand, Hug-Eh-Lee is a MUCH better vehicle for ZNN since it plays into their strengths. I also know that's probably Zee's last full-fledged acting project before he steps back so I hope DMD pour everything into it for a proper farewell of sorts for ZeeNunew onscreen. They deserve that much.

Even though I'm no fan of them, the hate and vitriol thrown towards ZNN in this project is crazy to me. The show being bad is not their fault. In fact, TNP, with the side couples everyone loves so much, wouldn't have existed or even gotten the sponsors to begin filming without their big name backing the project up. They're the reason you're seeing JimmyOhm and/or NetJJ in these roles in the first place. Put some respect on their name.

They're already dominating the industry, just by virtue of government support alone.

To use ZeeNunew's popularity to help the others get popular too. I'm no ZNN fan, but that's literally the reason they crammed 3 side couples into the story when the book barely had any.

I mean, side couples are side couples and the main couple is the main couple. Idk why side couple fans complain when they full well know most of the screentime is going to go to the main couple. You can just watch CalvinJay cuts on YouTube later on.

I had SEVERAL issues with the novel, I'll detail some of them here so you get where I'm coming from:

1 - Khem's character pissed me off. The curse is on HIM and yet he makes no effort to understand the curse or seek out people to help him. He's just there while everyone around him helps. He's just the stereotypical 'bottom', good at cooking, good at cleaning, but never speaks up and even cries when someone looks at him too long. I get that he's a shy character, but doesn't mean you need to be useless.

2 - The pacing is poor. All the plot is rammed into the first and last three chapters of the book with NOTHING happening in the middle portion. I was shocked when I found out that they only try and figure out the cause of the curse in the final couple of chapters. What tf were you doing before then?

3 - The romance is underdeveloped. I hate when past lives are used as a crutch by the writer to not develop the romance in this life. They both just like each other because they loved each other in their past live. We're not given any development to show why they might be attracted to each other apart from looks. If you're willing to sacrifice your life for someone else, past life connection and being attracted to their looks simply isn't enough.

Standards for Thai BL novels is quite low so this probably looks like a masterpiece compared to it, but it isn't great if you're evaluating it as a work of its own, at least according to me!

It's a complex discussion, but a lot of Yuri authors are sapphic women.

Most of those other dramas probably did not promise to be incredible, groundbreaking, spectacular as this one did (the whole documentary that released before Ep 1 was essentially glazing TNP and calling it the next frontier of Thai BL).

I blame Idol Factory for ruining Thai GLs with Chao Planoy for so many years omg.

At least they haven't re-purchased any of her novels.

You should watch other Thai BLs - Reset, Memoir of Rati, Knock Out are all great Thai BLs that are majorly flying under the radar.

You can't complain about subpar Thai BLs yet not seek out and support the good ones.

Or maybe you're just not paying attention to GMMTV lmao. A lot of their BLs this year have done very well, almost equal to TNP in trending numbers for some episodes (My Golden Blood, Perfect 10 Liners, ThamePo) with brand new couples.

I think other venues were 2000-3000 seats. This one is slightly bigger.

For a couple of ZNN's stature, this shouldn't have taken a week to sell out. But I know several of their fans aren't happy with this show so maybe they're just not attending idk.

The novel for this is quite poorly written and already has the pacing lack of character development issues that most DMD adaptations have. Expectations very low.

That's exactly what it promised to be though. It didn't overpromise and underdeliver like TNP.

I will say first two fanmeets were at smaller venues than the final one, maybe that contributed?
