The writer really didn't know where they wanted to go with this did they?The custody issue in the latest episode could have been the conflict for the series instead of the ridiculous 2ml plotline.
Have them try to gain custody and even when denied, giving them the opportunity to regain custody after they sacrifice something to become who WooJoo needs.

I suggest trying a different genre if you're feeling lost. If you don't mind trying a psychological/mystery/thriller I recommend the Korean version of "Liar Game"
