Why can't these BL dramas explore polyamory relationships? After seeing 13.5 I'm like let's just explore that…
Although polyamory do exist in PH (its rare), I believe that Filos are not that ready for the discussion yet (in general) because we are a conservative country. This could sound ironic bc there are a lot of mistress stories in our mainstream dramas.
But its an interesting idea to add polyamory in the plot bc it really lacks representation here. At the same time, it is also scary bc idk how will ph audience will receive it. Filos are not all open-minded enough
Really amazed that Filipino BLs have better plot execution most of the time. This show can get dramatic at times (not in an exaggerated or unhealthy way) but tbh as a Filipino myself, tv shows from here really have the way to make the audience feel. I believe this is the strength of most Filipino mainstream dramas which sometimes can get overboard bc they prioritize emotion over the plot itself. Nevertheless, I wish in the future dramas could be more like this, evoking emotions with sensible plot
Before the 2nd Season, I am very much excited to see EliKoy in "How to Die Young in Manila" which premiered in Busan Film Fest (if im not mistaken). Migs Almendraz (Junjun of HS) is also there and it was directed by Petersen Vargas (HS, 2 Cool 2 B Forgotten).
So yeah, A mini crossover b/w Gameboys and Hello Stranger in AU.
Im not really mad at this series happening. Im just really mad at GMM's b*llsh*tty timing. BW events are not even finished yet. Can't we at least wait till December for the teaser to drop because it really sucks. It wasn't been a week yet. I'm kinda scared for BrightWin after this tho.
Ngl, Win's character looks interesting. My boy is doing it again! He managed to change his aura from Tine to Kavin that's really interesting. Please don't sleep on him GMM I really hate u now at this point.
Maybe its a good save that they are diverting from the story line. Reading from the sources, Dao Ming Si doesn't sound like a so-so spoiled brat in here. I'm also glad that the director and the production are from the one's in charged in The Gifted and The Gifted Graduation. At least my worries kinda dissipates but GMM's business practices really upset me.
I don't know but I'm really really upset that they are obviously milking BW. I don't hate them even they said they auditioned for the role but c'mon they deserve better than this. I really hope that my babies will flourish outside the mainstream dramas/movies because they deserve it. Really really hoping that they do something like Banana Fish or something like that.
PHEW what a nice ride for this series! Although it had no solid plot (it doesn't have to), I love the overall warmth and comfort this had. I'm really glad for getting to know 2gether and Still2gether. I'll definitely watch it sometime in the future when I get to start venturing myself through romantic relationships or if there will be doors for it *wink*.
For me, its really rare to find this portrayal of romance in general. Maybe it sounds idealistic or unrealistic. It really sounds stupid why I love this series so much as much I am stupid to this aspect of life. I LOVE IT! Maybe I am really bombarded with established relationships on media (straight or not) which are already built up or I am always left hanged when the two characters start dating.
Overall, it was a self-validating series for me. I really get scared of the idea of getting into relationships because basically feelings is not really easy to act on unless you are impulsive. I really love Sarawat/Tine. Their chemistry speaks louder on building a personal connection to each other and comfortable space. Their skinships are just extras and doesnt have to go overboard. Also I like them for being open and undemanding. At least it is an indication that their relationship is off to a good start (also kinda surprised it was an instant matured response). I also thought I'll never like Mil/Phukong bc of its speed development. I really admire Mil for teaching Phukong on affection (aka holding hands) and not taking advantage of him. That was so simple yet endearing. Their pairing screams a "notice-me-senpai-to-senpai-finally-noticed" dynamic to me. Lastly, ManType being on LDR and the most sensible dynamic in this series which a lot of people agree on their chemistry is another flavor which complements the other three.
For the last scene, it was just a cherry on top. I personally think there is a need of showing where their relationship will lead although we already know where is it going. It was there to not leave us hanging.
I've been thinking lately about this LOL if Bright and Win would be in another drama, I'm itching to see them…
So I've been introduced to Garden of Light (spin-off) and Angel Eyes (Artbook). DAMN ANGEL EYES. The amount of resemblance haunts me. Bright and Win effing deserve to be in BF fight me!!!
I've been thinking lately about this LOL if Bright and Win would be in another drama, I'm itching to see them doing Banana Fish. Its non-BL centric, but has the elements of it and its an Anime (HELP ME WEEBS). But I feel its kinda hard because of the dark themes that the story majorly covers plus I dont know how will the plot will pull-off on Thai context. AshEiji (actually this is my most favorite M/M pairing all time, Ending song 1 of the show is still ringing in my head up to this day), I really see their personalities fitting in these characters plus the relationship dynamic they offer. The real challenge is that this is going to be real heavy, and I believe both actors should evolve a little first.
They saved the show from... the sin of same-sex love, by not having any? They saved it from offending asexuals?…
Hmmm okay now I've read your sentiments, SarTine is getting a little bit weirder right now.
Tine's crying at the poolside (although I never took it seriously sorry :( ) to me is like somewhat a "being matured" response to the situation? yeah dam-bursting as said above. Sarawat seeing him crying kinda sends a message that "yeah he's trying his best to be patient, so should I" some sort of manner.
Sarawat waiting for him at the end is another somewhat "being matured" because remember Tine's birthday? He allowed him to celebrate with his friends and they'll celebrate later at home. (tbh it also sounds weird to me) I feel like he already knew that he'll come to him or he was actually waiting for him. Its like both are aware that they have their responsibilities and they have to set aside their longingness.
Okay here comes the weird part. I agree on the emotional imbalance part . Maybe here comes the part that they've been together for 1 year, and the amount of trust that they have plus the lack of physical affection kinda starts to weird out to me bc its sounds unrealistic. Anyways, I still enjoy on the good bits of the show.
I'm not entirely sure what you're saying, but in real life, when you love someone and they love you back, you…
Reading from the comments, I think 2gether could have turned into something like Doukyuusei (its a movie, but set in highschool which kinda proves the point hahahahahahaha) except that it attempted to complicate itself and failed.
I also think that the other factor that makes this look immature is that they are in school clubs rather than classes because of most BL series are course-centric like engineering. It could have been wittier bc they are Law and Pol Sci students but it never went to that due to lack research sadly.
I'm not entirely sure what you're saying, but in real life, when you love someone and they love you back, you…
hmm I think I should have used the word "established" rather than "matured". I don't think hug is a not particularly sexual either. I was trying to say that most of relationships are presented in way that "its already obvious that we are in-love" sort of manner and not the ones that is starting to bloom.
(PS. Hey I noticed that you liked Hello Stranger and kinda liked that series too hehe)
After the hate and debacle that this series has been given, I think I have formed my honest take about this series.
2gether the series is very different from every BL series out there. Their love is not the kind we are used to see (i.e. intimacy and affection elements) but rather its more of effort and exploratory based (for the lack of a better term). Note that this is Sarawat's first relationship and Tine is new to an m|m relationship and I think it kinda justifies the show's lack of affection y'all been wanting. The headpats were first formed bc maybe that was the only kind of affection Tine was comfortable with from him or it was the only kind affection that Sarawat learned given his personality.
I personally think that the "failure" of the series is the direction because it was awkward and failed to deliver what they were trying to do. I think what they tried to do is to explore Tine's insecurities (am I using the right word) that's why the jealousy route was followed in ep 12. We were shown at episode 8 that he is trying to contact his feelings and act on it. In ep 9 he wanted to prove that Sarawat deserves him and later he was frustrated because he messed it up.
To all who are dismissing this series because its IMMATURE and lowkey unrealistic imo, I think its ignorance on your part what kind of love the show is trying to imply or you're not into this kind of stories. If this kind affection does not suit your taste, then okay. I still agree that hi-5 still cracks me up tho.
I'm not entirely sure what you're saying, but in real life, when you love someone and they love you back, you…
I know that and I get it. But being in love for me does not get there too easily, (perhaps it does? maybe I dont know since Im inexperienced). If I were in a new relationship (especially if its my first), I would be honestly startled if we do kiss and hug right away. I think we often forget that their love is still growing and it is not always "we are all expecting". Maybe its just the time-skip of 1 year that it makes it ridiculous. When I first fell in love and I knew that person likes me back, He had rubbed my forehead and I actually froze. I think its the same feeling for Tine when Sarawat flirts with him in the 1st season. The difference is that Sarawat and Tine had been open about their feelings and we did not thats why we never continued because at that time I feel pressured "to love like how everyone does with their partners" and I was afraid I cannot show that kind of affection either being a not so touchy-feely person myself. I take it as if Sarawat does head pats first because it is where Tine is comfortable with. Them comfortable with each other eventually is very satisfying to see.
I honestly dont want to care if they still seem like 12-yr-old to me. But I still feel like writing this anyway for the sake of speaking out. I feel like mature relationships are too much overrated to me these days. There is nothing really bad about it because they want to depict reality. But I do want to enjoy the joys of starting.
