Watching Us has healed me in ways I was not expecting
I stumbled upon this series a couple of months back on accident. I was looking for something new and people who watches GL movies/series has been putting this series on top of their list. I got curious as to why so I took a shot and started watching it.Do you remember the first time you have ever tasted your favorite dish? Or the feeling when you have seen your favorite person again after some time? Or even the first time you have met the person who will somehow change your life for the better. That is the perfect way for me to describe the very first few seconds of watching this series. It’s cliche but it altered my brain chemistry. It was so refreshing. It is something new. The production and cinematography is top notch. The acting and emotions in each characters eyes will make you feel the exact emotion they are conveying. The background music is the icing on the cake, it completes the whole “vibe” of the scene. The first few minutes of the first episode of Us is easily on my list of “Things I would pay for just to experience it the first time again”. People who watches series and/or movies a lot know that the first few minutes of the first EP is very important to capture the audience attention. My first 10 mins of this series, I already know that this is different and this series will have me on chokehold (in a good way).
This series does not only focus on the romance of the two main leads, it revolves around the lives of people around them and the story perfectly connected each characters stories to one another. It shows growth and healing of each and everyone. It is refreshing to see a series that is not full of hate and miscommunication that would lead to fights just to make the story go on. But rather, this series when faces with the difficulties and hardships, each characters focus on healing. On how to approach it better. The story aims to show personal growth, maturity and forgiveness. In a world that is full of hate, hardships and loneliness it warms my heart to have watch a series wherein it taught me that life can be good. That I, just like the characters, deserves love and all the good things life has to offer. And not all people will hurt or deceive you, that if you will be the right peron you will also meet the right person that would want nothing but the best for you.
This series easily made it as one of my comfort series. It is crazy how many times I have rewatched it (I still do from time to time that I feel like the world is too much and I just needed a warm hug). And I do hope that more people will get to watch, learn and fall in love with Pam and Dokrak’s love story. All of us deserves that kind of love.
