The pacing is atrocious and definitely does nothing to save this already poorly written story. They should've added small elements of improvement to it to help enhance the story somehow. The movie could've spared more time for Subaru and Akane like the manga did. But they pretty much didn't go into their relationship as much. Their relationship was probably a slightly healthier one compared to Hatsumi and Ryoki.
I would say that they should've made this a short drama series or they should've salvaged the series as an anime. It honestly would've been given more room to develop things for the audience that has not read Hot Gimmick.
I really liked it....The only thing that probably disappointed me would have to be that they didn't make some of the characters as close to how they look in the anime. But Shin'ichi and Ran are still so cute together. ^-^
