Yes, it really is a thing. It's also quite common in other Southeast Asian countries. I grew up in a rural area with cold weather, so our parents would do this to keep us clean when we were sick as kids, just to get rid of the sweat and smell. We also believed that taking a bath while sick would make things worse, so that's when the towel bath would come into play. Lol... But I still don't get why it's so popular in bl shows. 😂 Edit- I just saw the scene and that IS NOT how you do a towel bath. 🤣🤣
