Is it just me, or does anyone think Yu-Rim & Hee-Do's present relationship will mirror the one between Hee-Do's…
You know what I was thinking about Heedo’s mom and her coach’s relationship too .. was it a foreshadowing about Yijin (news reporter) and Heedo (athlete). In the trailer of 2521 it says at 19 and 23 they will hurt each other because of a misunderstanding.. will Yijin be forced to write or report something bad about heedo too? Just like how her mom had no choice to write about the coach years ago even if they’re friends?
Do you guys think Hee Do and Yi Jin have developed romantic feelings for each other yet? They're definitely platonic…
The car scene where yijin said you have to fall in love first before you get sad of a breakup - Heedo remembers right away that time when yijin left. I think thats when she realized she’s fallen for yijin.
I actually find ko yu rim's story more interesting and inspiring than the main leads. Hee do has plenty going…
I think you are looking for a ‘cinderella’ story here but obviously this is not it. The story was never about the privileged and under privileged. Heedo represents people who has big potential when they were young but never came to fruition. I know we grew up seeing shows where the main lead is poor and she worked her way up but I think its good that this one did not focus on that. As much as we want to see another ‘cinderella story’ i find this one a breath of fresh air.
I remember Yijin’s lines in Ep1? ‘Having a parent or people help you is a special right you only have at your age. Itd be a waste to blow it.’ I feel like youre trying to discredit Heedo’s effort just because in the end, it was her mom who made it happen. Also pls dont make it sound like she cheated. It was just transferring school not entering the nationals or the Olympics. Her mom talked to the coach as a parent. I did not see her pulling strings - if so she should have come up to the principal instead dont you think? It was just a natural thing that parents do for their child. Also, if I look at Yurim, if not for the sponsorship of Yi jin’s family, Yurim won’t be where she is now as well. Her parents must have mustered the courage to get help as well. They both tried to find a way to get to their dreams by getting help from people.
And I dont think Yurim hates Heedo because ‘she got preferential treatment’. That was never the topic of discussion everytime Yurim shows her immature disgust on Heedo. I think she hates her because she’s scared of Heedo and what she can do just like how she was scared when she was a kid. She’s treating Heedo bad because of what happened years ago and on a sports event! She’s harboring hate on someone who she doesn’t even find time to get to know personally.
Also underdog doesnt immediately mean the one who had tough/poor/difficult background. go look it up. Underdog means its a person who has lesser chances of winning. That is Heedo right now. Even Yurim loved to point that out the first time they talked.
Nam Joo Hyuk still can't help but look handsome even in those outfits at the fish market! I mean this guy can wear anything and still look like a model!
I think its the first time Im leaving comment for a drama. ? This is also the only few kdrama I watched this 2020, thanks to my niece. I can relate with all the characters. Being in IT industry myself, i can relate with what the characters are going through.
Acquisitions in the industry are common and I feel bad for the samsan tech team to be disbanded after but I kindof understand and root that the developers are given a chance to work at Silicon Valley. I dont think they are dumb or whatever thats why it happened. Its already a good deal actually i just hoped Alex explained it to them clearly instead of being vague about it. The show is trying to portray a start-up company afterall. Its not all rainbows and butterflies. As much as we want to see them already know what their doing, they will make mistakes and fail as well. I love how they portayed small victories though. The time they won demo day I was genuinely happy. I love success stories even how small they are. Especially with everything that was said and that happened to the Samsan tech in the beginning (the comments from jipyeong, injae, Dosan’s dad, their humble beginnings at the rooftop, etc). Its a vindication scene, for sure.
I like their business ideas too! Love to see through the minds of innovative people - i get inspired to think of innovations too.
This show is more realistic than most I watched (suprisingly). As much as I want to hold myself back with the letters and all those fairytale-like backstory, I was pulled to the present and I saw how lots of things even emotions can change. I see how a simple step forward or backward can mean a lot. Unfortunately, irl when you keep on backing up instead of moving forward, you will miss your chance in love and life.
Im excited for the next episode. 3yrs can change a lot and im excited to see a more confident Dosan. Unlike others, I think I was able to relate with Dosan more especially at the start of the series. I feel for the underdogs, the people who are still searching for success. Im a sucker for a good success story and people who withstand circumstances to reach success. ?
Im wondering if I saw this show back when I was younger - will I prefer the other guy? Maybe. The first love - letters and all those backstory is endearing for me when I was young. But right now I guess, like how I grew tired of watching these kind of dramas, Im just looking to watch for something more realistic and relateable.
