I'm coming across quite a few C-dramas that don't have a happy ending. That’s definitely the reason why they’ll never be as popular as K-dramas. Hopefully, the Chinese industry realizes this.

No, in TV shows they don't eat it like that... it's just a plain slice with nothing on top. I've seen it many times and they never put anything on it. It's clearly an imitation of Western food, but they just made up whatever they wanted, and I find it ridiculous to watch them eat bread like that

No, not all romcoms are this cringe, not from the start or ever... this one is just bad.

I wonder where Koreans got that habit of eating plain toasted sliced bread with absolutely nothing on it. In the West, neither in Europe and I don't think in the US either, have I ever seen anyone eat bread completely plain. I've seen it in many K-dramas, but I just don't get it. At least in Europe, toast is eaten with butter and jam, and depending on the country, with many other things, but never plain bread, which tastes awful.

It seems to me that you're the one who hasn't seen the videos I'm talking about. I don't watch promos, but I know Asian culture perfectly well. I've even been to China and I have Chinese friends, which is something most of the people commenting here can't say

No, they don't just do whatever they want. They are actors, and their job is to act under a director's guidance on a filming set, not to be doing silly things a TV host asks them to do just to satisfy an infantilized audience that can't tell fiction apart from reality. I know Asian culture perfectly well. I've even been to China and I have Chinese friends, which is something most of the people commenting here can't say.

I never watch promotions for shows or anything of the sort, but I know Asian culture perfectly well. They aren't used to that kind of public physical contact, and it must be very uncomfortable for them to have to keep repeating those silly antics outside of a filming environment. It's all to satisfy a completely infantilized audience that doesn't know how to separate fiction from reality.

Of course I'd think the same. They are actors; they act in a specific environment under a director's guidance, not off-screen where hosts tell them what to do like circus monkeys. They have an intimacy coordinator just for them to cross every single line off-screen? What's the point of that?

All the videos I’m seeing of the main actors promoting the show are starting to really cringe me out. They won't stop touching each other, hugging, and acting silly just to feed the more immature fans. I have never seen anything like this in my life for a movie or TV show promo. It’s ridiculous and embarrassing, especially considering the guy is in a relationship. I find it highly unprofessional and disrespectful. I hold the show in high regard, and they are going to end up ruining it for me.

Most people don’t understand the psychology of this female character. She is shy, a bit immature or innocent (normal at her age), sweet, and kind. But that doesn’t make her foolish. The character is built on a foundation of immense self-worth and ambition. She clearly doesn’t settle for just anything, neither in her career nor in love. We tend to look down on sweet women, thinking they are easily manipulated. That is not true. The moment she feels even slightly attacked, she defends herself—and very well. That is why the male protagonist is completely captivated and pursues her. He knows he can't easily overpower her, because she is ready to walk away at any moment. If you understand this, you see the story differently, and it becomes much less toxic than it appears on the surface. That doesn't mean the male protagonist doesn't have serious communication issues, but going from that to being evil... I don't think so. Listen to what he actually says. To what he talks about with his friends.
