Yay a HE! But they cheated us out of a wedding episode!
That said the last few episodes definitely felt very rushed.
Something's definitely missing between PeiYi and HuaiJin breaking up over him stopping her from executing the Right Chancellor... Then somehow have her off Cui MinZhong anyway and have our leads spontaneously make up.
We still have no clue why Right Chancellor wanted Prince Duan dead. What exactly did the latter oppose? If indeed Prince Duan meant no harm to the throne and the Right Chancellor is as loyal as he says then why did they fall out?
Also not sure why they introduced a new villain with just 3 episodes to spare. Cut material maybe?
Consort Shu's new robes looks like she has been promoted to Empress actually.
Overall not the best drama, but I stayed till the end due to inertia and how green flag HuaiJin was (And I'm a guy!)
Does that mean he should just let Peiyi crash and burn? His methods of "trusting the emperor" and failure…
Justice for who? Her alone? Or for the empire?
As the Emperor very clearly puts it, it is the Right Chancellor she is meaning to kill. Offing him will create chaos in the court. And yes, whilst the Emperor wields absolute power, he alone cannot shoulder all the responsibilities of running a country.
If PeiYi gets her revenge, the ordinary citizens will be the ones who suffer from a fractious leadership indulging in schemes to fill the power vacuum.
I plan to watch this drama, Kindly give me spoiler regarding1. When is the main couple officially together?2.…
1. Ep12 2. Not a real breakup. More of a misunderstanding causing them to fail to communicate. Resolved in 3-4 episodes 3. See above 4. Ep18 5. No 2ML/2FL have their own story. 6. Sort of. ML has someone his mother tried to matchmake him to - he's not keen at all. FL has an ex-boss who likes her. I feel she reacted reasonably to spurn his advances. 7. Happy Happy Happy!
Decided to give this a go whilst waiting for the big budget releases and I'm pleasantly surprised?!
The banter is pretty good. Both the ML and the FL plays their roles well. And there's palpable chemistry between the two. You can really see her peeling off his defences convincingly during the initial episodes.

In sharp contrast to how Legend of the Female General had to declare every single girl-power moment.
Hope the writers for LotFG learn some lessons on how to write stories on female oppression without virtue signalling.
I get that they wanted to proper closure (which is great!) but the casual offing of the villains in the show felt really underwhelming.
Way too much plot development in the last 3-4 episodes as well. Those were probably stuff that could've been explained earlier.
That said, watch it for the production values and the OST.
I mean... That's not exactly crossing a line..

Said adoptive father then decided to force her to marry the rapist in order to maintain business ties.
Ep25
Last episode is abit of a treat!
This was unexpectedly enjoyable... Certainly the chemistry between the leads makes it an easy watch!
