I wish I could enter the screen and tell the Queen Mother to chill. She's acting as if it's the 16th century and there is a real risk that the Grand Prince will snatch the throne from her kid. Come on, lady, you are purely decorative and the Grand Prince is doing you a big service by keeping the royal family popular. Seriously, this woman acts as if she's the villain in a sageuk, it feels completely off.
RIGHT, i remember major backlash during the Bai Lu scandal and so many c-netz upset he was paired with jing tian…
@PeachThey were reportedly dating. Now, would that be scandalous that two single people of comparable age date? In C-Ent it would. Personally, I would only find it reasonable.
So if they are acting like serial killers they should have something in common with serial killers🤨
Aesthetically, they said. Meaning they don’t look nothing like the characters as described in the novel. Which is high quality trash (the novel), so who cares if the actors don’t look like the characters.
she really just didn't shower and go to her jov unshowered because they didn't have warm water????? i would prefer…
Honest question: why would yoi shower in the morning? I always do it in the evening, to wash off all the dirt, dust, sweat of the day... In the morning, you are still clean, I mean you have spent 8 hours at home/in bed. Do what's the point, unless needing it to wake up completely?
No romance in the original. The leads are like 20 years apart.
Well, the original title is "Winter after autumn snow". English titles alwa6a try to squeeze love everywhere - though I guess they could mean non-romantuc love.
Does the jdrama touched upon Unit 731 or is it completely different? I haven't seen it. My stance is not to let…
Paxxie no, the jdrama has nothing to do with Unit 731. It is about a young couple that enters into an arranged marriage and tries to make it work. The husband happens to be a navy officer. That's it.
8.6 on DB, more than 13thousand people rated it, becoming the most high ranking drama in 2025.Western people are…
You are always so hung up on western audience, it becomes ridiculous. Youku did nothing to promote this drama, they don’t care about the international audience, they didn’t even get it readable subtitles. Yet you expect viewers in Brazil, France or in Germany to not only hear about this show (where? I only find out about it via AvenueX, but not every drama lover watches her) but also be able to read subtitles in english, be able to understand the meaning when, for example, japanese soldiers yell at the porter and the subtitles read "I am a singer bao yi tong!", or be a member of the Cdrama reddit in order to find out that a Redditor has actually undertaken to create human-made subtitles (and I am oh so grateful for that!).
On top of all that, the show would have its niche audience outside of East Asia anyways. Exactly like western shows or films about the Holocaust in Asia. Last year’s critically acclaimed The Zone of Interest about Auschwitz was not even released in China (maybe in Hong Kong). Should I, as the descendant of a concentration camp survivor, cry "the Chinese audience is sleeping on this"? Asian audiences are not so informed about Nazi atrocities in Europe (otherwise pop bands like BTS would not be wearing nazi insignia in their early concerts) and western audiences are not well informed about Japanese atrocities in East Asia, and that’s a fact. But there are those who try to learn and understand, and you flooding the comment sector with racist comments is unacceptable.
I find it ironic that Man's Inhumanity to Man is coming out shortly after A Calm Sea and Beautiful Days with You,…
There have been several romantic films featuring German soldiers. A good one, if you are intersted, is Suite Francaise. Also, you may find The Zone of Interest interesting: 2024 film about the everyday life of a very likable German family - who happens to live in a mamsion right next to Auschwitz, the Dad being the camp's commandant.
international community is not good, they are not interested in this kind of drama because they think it does…
@Chinese Empress, seriously you cannot expect people that want to watch Cdramas to learn Chinese because production companies are indifferent enough to use subtitles! What a silly thing to say. It’s like telling people in rural communities that they shouldn't complain that the government doesn’t send doctors, they could study medicine themselves. Western audiences are not very familiar with Japanese atrocities in WW2 because the Chinese don't bother to promote shows like this one. Which is insane, in my opinion.
