No, it was written to be spiritual and subtle they never got together. They never kissed. It was a sad tragic ending, but it was a great ending and if you stopped watching it because you wanted skin ship or whatever then this is not for you.

I thought it was really out of place given that this isn’t a fantasy drama of any way shape or form. Like this is an assassin/frame job gunning for the throne/palace politics drama. Not a xianxia or a wuxia.
