I always rate and review dramas and only when completed. Liking the characters is one thing, but if the plot is a runaway train wreck...just basing things off chemistry does a real disservice to those folks looking to try it out or even if the screenwriter ever gets interested in reading comments. Now I know on foreign websites that's less common but thinking about a non-credible site like Douban; after all this time the rating and review is still a low 4. If this thing unfolds like I think it might, I feel very bad for the original author and I'd be mad as hell too.

Duolou Continent w/Xiao Zhan. I rated both in the 7s while TLB got a 9.5 from me. Only one historical drama of theirs has a perfect score from me. I'm if you haven't noticed, very picky when it comes to plot and character development and cohesion.

Yep. TLB sans cartoons and parrots was great. DC also was in the decent category along with The Imperial Coroner.

Wtf did I just read? You know, I'll take a lame cop out suicide over a half-assed explained disappearance or a 2min long redemption plot. The previews make less sense now then they ever did before.

Everything that should have happened in episode like 25 is happening now, basically.

They wasted such a good antagonist with QT; instead using stupidity and this high delusion. I've seen one good historical drama this year; one. It set a high bar; everything else that I've seen in that genre....just no. This is literally the worst. They butchered the novel; created a plot with more holes then an old sock and sent this out the door.

I remember ppl talking a lot about the novel at the beginning of this show/mess. I think it's safe to say the thing has gone so far off the rails that there is no pt to compare it to the novel anymore. According to the previews and this mess is btw trending on Weibo right now, JBN finds out she is pregnant right after she loses her grandmother who I'm guessing was being poisoned by Gao and Empress? So relations btwn her and LQ went completely haywire fairly recently meaning in next week's gallop to the finish line.

Gao had the focus of most of the episodes 🤮.

Why jump 5 years? That literally makes no sense.

Seems like it and I may join you in this waiting period. Maybe just watch today's episodes on Tuesday and wait for next Monday to watch the rest. This is not good for my heart.

It hurts my head. Because ZX, the empress, and Gao; I doubt will get any comeuppance. There simply won't be any time. Unless they all spontaneously kill themselves.
