From 38 episodes to 32 episodes? As I know the lastest rule from China goverment gave permission for their dramas to air maximum 40 episodes and modern drama could pass censorship more easily than their costume dramas.

If I want to know more info about Chinese dramas, I look at Dramawiki or sometimes Baidu.
But Baidu is in Chinese language so if I want to search from the Baidu page, first I will copy and paste the drama title in Chinese and put word "Baidu" together with the drama title in Chinese on the google search bar. Then I will use google translation to translate the Baidu's page.
From the comment below, Wang Xing Yue character in here is as the main female lead's cousin and will has his own romance with another female character, Lin Lin played by actress Ding Xiao Ying.

I know dramas production are not charity house, they are companies that want gain profit but don't you feel you are wasting money if when you keep produce dramas that have high possibility to get butcher here and there by the censorship. Don't forget if any of the main casts get involve in scandal like not pay taxes or crime like sexual assault, the dramas will get into the dungeon forever T_T
There are tons of web novels in China that not involve time travel/ rebirth/ transmigration/ reincarnation but still have many local fans right?
If they produce dramas adapted by that novels, they get lower possibility to get butcher by censorship but apparently they really like to produce dramas adapted from novels with the rebirth theme hmmm
But I really like Zhou Ye as an actress and performance has greatly improved from first drama of her that I watch, Word Of Honor.
I also had watch Cheng Lei in short dramas way before he become popular through My Journey To You. His performance in those short dramas are not the greatest but he make improvement in his dramas now.
