There is not even a sweet hug from a mutual feeling from main male lead & main female lead LOL

Even until episode 27, main female lead never tell main male lead that she likes him.

Their romance are 1% sweet, 99% angst. If you like sweet romance, this drama is not for you.

I don't read novel which been adapted to this drama yet but people who read mentioned main female lead is a modern woman that time travelled into a novel she read before.

The drama production in China need to change the plot because their government current rule don't allow time travel plot in drama or they will get edit out by censorship.

Based on the some hint in the episodes especially in episode 27, it clear Hua Qian not die yet in episode 1 but get save by Lord Xi Wu.

She is currently in coma and dreaming to change her present reality, while Xi Wu trying to wake her up using scent from the incense.

So based on the spoiler, until recent episode, there are 3 side couple that get happy ending with their partner:
1) Ye Lan & Mu Yao
2) Hua Qian's maid & Ye Lan's servant
3) Miss Qi & that male servant

I understand that this drama mainly about Hua Qian's life journey of maturity but why not they give fair development for the character of main male lead too sheesh

I really adore Zhou Ye & Wang Xing Yue chemistry in this drama though.
I watch some behind the scene clip and it seem Zhou Ye being easy-going and playful with Wang Xing Yue despite she is 4 years older than him.

Zhou Ye was born on 1998 while Wang Xing Yue was born on 2002. She is his "noona" in real life LOL

I watch some spoiler clips on bilibili where Hua Qian shocked that all just a dream, crying, screaming and based on translation on comment, she said like "why you wake me up, let just me be in dream" to Xi Wu.

Poor dude patiently staying by her side, trying to cure her all this time yet when she wake up, she screaming & blaming him LOL

I still love both of them though. They have so much chemistry despite limited skinship in this drama.

Hua Rong Zhou is the one that get many skinship and sweet scene with Hua Qian haha

I also believe that Xi Wu love Hua Qian long before this, even when she being a manipulative and evil person so she can marry Ye Lan.

He stepped aside before this because he thought she head over heels with Ye Lan.

If not why would he saved her when she almost died and trying to cure her while she in coma?

I read a comment mentioned that maybe the part Xi Wu compete with Ye Lan for Mu Yao before was actually Xi Wu's plan so Hua Qian can be with Ye Lan without interruption.

We can see how much Xi Wu love Hua Qian, I don't believe at all that Xi Wu actually fall in love Mu Yao LOL

I think the main reason Hua Qian reject Xi Wu in her dream state even it clear she also like him is because if she accept Xi Wu, that means she need to wake up to reality.

The reality where there no else left by her side except Xi Wu.

Since episode 26 for international version will be on air on HBO today, I wonder if there will be any scene that they actually delete or change from the already aired of episode 26 for local version on Youku hmmm

Even the character of main leads in this drama stressed me out, I couldn't deny that actress Zhou Ye performance as Hua Qian is very good.

I'm also really impressed with actor Wang Xing Yue performance in this drama because even his character has little screentime, his is so charismatic as Zhong Xi Wu and his chemistry with Hua Qian are intense despite their limited skinship onscreen.

I could understand her decision. She tired of everything and she just want a peaceful life.

I read a comment mentioned that maybe the main reason Hua Qian rejected Lord Xi Wu even in her dream state although it clear she also developed feeling towards him is because if she accepted him in her dream state, it means she has to wake up to reality.

Reality that she couldn't change anything. Reality which there are no family, no her bodyguard Hua Rong Zhou, no other peoples and only Lord Xi Wu is left by her side.

She rejected him meaning she reject to accept the reality.

I admit to me, the actor who play main male lead in this drama is not someone that I call handsome but he is sooo charming!

This drama is quite serious and not much romance scenes between king and queen.

The main theme is about responsibility of the queen & love of the mother to her children.

I need more Chinese & Korean historical drama with sismance and second female lead that has her own man.

I'm okay if they make the main female lead & second female lead had grudge or become rival with each other at the the beginning then slowly develop sismance but please make the reason for their rivalry was other than main male lead's love.
