Xiao Hong Ye has a temper issue that need to be controll with.
Well in realm of dramatic toxic romance, I still could accept if he really kill Gu Meng's family but when he kill a baby no matter who is the real father, he already crossed the line.
Also, why did he torture her even he resent her father? She's not involve in any of this matter and her family already dead.
He is dumb because he tortured her that is not involve with his family matter and then falling for her while she is dumb because lying to him even she already know about his crazy temper.
I think he deserve to get shoot by her in later episode as shown in trailer even when I want them to be together at the end.
I think he wouldn't die after that because there is a photo spoiler with Xiao Hong Ye look a bit dirty while wearing the soldier uniform and Gu Meng wearing the nurse outfit.
We need to remember this drama was set on Republic Of China (1912 - 1949) where they were at the period of World War II.
I also think Xiao Hong don't really kill Gu Meng's family. He hates her father but he is not the real reason why her family is dead.
