Honestly, I believe that whether an actor is handsome or an actress is beautiful is subjective because everyone have their own preference. An actor can be praised as so handsome by some audiences but can be seen as an ordinary looking by other audiences. The important thing to always remember when watching dramas or movies whether from the east like K-ent, C-ent, J-ent, T-ent or from the west like Hollywood is the peoples that played in these dramas, male ar female are actors and actresses, meaning they only act or pretend as characters to us as audiences on the screen.

-Despite main male lead is a total green flag and main couple have really healthy relationship with no draggy misunderstanding or conflict between them, the main couple love story are so lively and not boring.
-No usual annoying and bitchy second female lead trope. There is a supporting female character that like main male lead but he doesn't involved himself with her at all and her character didn't bring any stupid draggy conflict or misunderstanding between main couple.

This drama was adapted from novel Chun Hua Yan by Hei Yan. I already searched for English translation of the novel but I still couldn't find it yet.
I read some novel reader comments that since main male lead character is really a red flag in novel, they believe the screenwriter surely will whitewash his character to pass the censorship.
I also read some info from the comments of Liu Xue Yi Chinese fans using google translation. Since some of his Chinese fans had accessed to drama script, they shared that screenwriter of this drama change the happy ending of main couple from the novel.
According to them, in the novel, they get together at the end while in the drama, main couple get separated. Main male lead will become emperor and end up lonely(?) while main female lead will wandering around the country(?) or something like that.
Since they change the original happy ending, I hope at least the drama screenwriter will not whitewash main male lead character too much and the censorship will lenient about his scenes more than usual because the screenwriter already give audiences moral of the story at the ending, that is, if you're an evil character, even you're main male lead, main female lead will leave you and you will end up lonely.
What is the use of whitewashing red flag character of main male lead in the drama yet changed his happy ending from the novel to sad ending. That's the point of given him sad ending, right? So show his red flag character to me haha

#There is a Chinese female screenwriter, Zhao Lin, that I enjoyed many of her dramas even they are just short dramas because her dramas consistently have good main female lead character, good main male lead character and lovely romance between main couple. I don't claim that the plots of her dramas are perfect since many plot of her dramas are quite dramatic but they are very enjoyable to me. But it's impossible for Wang Xing Yue to work with her unless this screenwriter get involved in regular long drama project haha T_T

I enjoyed a drama by both screenwriters in the past, New Life Begins (2022) with Tian Xi Wei and Bai Jing Ting. It's interesting because for drama New Life Begins, many important people like art director, costume designer, director, executive producer and producer are all male:
