*can't be too ruthless/gore/brutal/bloody for scene involving violence like fight,murder, abuse, torture

*if a regular long drama adapted from a novel where the main lead character is ruthless or possessive, they will soften the character because of censorship. Sometimes, they also will soften the character because they want to appeal the main lead character to audience/fan.
According to Chinese novel reader, the main male lead character is a red flag but he get happy ending with main female lead in the novel. But, according to the main actor's Chonese fans in this drama that have accessed to drama script in Chinese language, the screenwriter change the original happy ending in novel to main couple separated at the end. Main male lead become emperor then he died(?) while the main female lead wondering around the world(?) or something like that. Since the screenwriter change the original happy ending, I hope they wouldn't soften the main male lead character too much.

Short length series (as far as I know):
*no maximum episode but usually drama production filming 20-30 episodes for short drama airing on tencent, youku, mango platform
*usually drama production filming under 20 minutes for one episode
*the set, outfit especially for historical costumes look more cheaper than regular long dramas
*since there is very less censorship, the intimate scenes like kiss, bed scenes are more steamy. For example, main couple in one of short drama in 2024, Embrace In The Dark Night has tongue kiss but then the main actor's girlfriend in real life throw tantrum when main actor being online with main actress doing live for drama's promotion LOL
*also known as trashy/guilty pleasure drama because many short dramas have quite ridiculous/stupid/disjointed/weak storyline but usually their intimate scene will always be steamy haha, recent example is Embrace In The Dark Night with steamy kiss yet frustrating main female lead character.

But some peoples always complain about long episode has filler and they feel bored of any scenes that are not about main couple. So this short dramas are suitable for them.
Since short drama has less censorship than regular dramas, they can make more crazy plot like Love & Bid Farewell & main couple can have more steamy skinship.
