Dude I know people find the FL annoying but I'm more upset at the ML right now. The FL is clearly not doing well…
100% agree. I've decided to drop rather than continue to get angry at how badly everyone is treating the FL. What he did was awful, and the fact that her friends are rolling their eyes at her over it makes me dislike them too. At the end of the episode, he was STILL lying to her about a blackout to get her to talk to him shows how he still has no remorse. Tthe way he acts like he needs to manipulate her in order to "manage" her because she is so "unreasonable" is super off-putting. she is a human being.
Only thing I'm still curious about after this episode: What was in the center of lawyer boy's bingo card? i feel like he's doing more to make her functional again than anyone.
I feel like they wasted too much time on that software case. I honestly couldn’t even understand what they were…
During the last episode, I found myself thinking that the plot about reforming the firm was superfluous to the drama. It ended up feeling like another thing that wasn't *really* resolved
There is a 1998 movie called Playing by Heart that opens with Angelina Jolie talking about a friend who told her that talking about love was like dancing about architecture. And she replied, "That's not gonna stop me from trying." I thought about that bit a lot during episode 12
I love how SH defies the typical high powered man stereotype who is only driven by greed and ego. His caring for…
I love how people find him scary, but he's actually just a good boss. His sitting silently while Lee Jin Woo talked himself into a corner was masterful
The case is the main focus, but the majority seems to have dismissed the importance of it.
I mean, I'm not judging anyone. I like plot and feels.
That said, the case in episode 9 was stellar. I really liked the wrap-up at the end, with all the people involved in the case. I appreciated how they didn't make any grand statements about right vs. wrong, just about humans and consequences.
Oh, I noticed! I was like, "OMG, is that Lee Sang Yeob, my favorite evil lawyer ever?"
While You Were Sleeping is my favorite K-drama EVER. Lee Jong Suk, Suzy, and Jung Hae In are a prosecutor, a reporter, and a police officer who see the future in their dreams, then use it to prevent and solve crimes. Lee Sang Yeob is a once-prosecutor-turned-bigwig-attorney, and he is one of the most compelling villains I've seen in a K-drama.
Finished this morning. As I drove to work, I processed my mixed feelings about this drama. Eventually I decided that *most* law & crime-related dramas are about beating the corrupt system. This drama's message was more "In a terrible world, your best option is to remain flexible and choose the compromise you can live with." Which did make the characters' struggles relatable, but also did not result in happy feels. At the end, I was nodding in mild satisfaction, having never once sympathize with the ML

Yeah, he was solidly the villain in WYWS, which you should absolutely watch if you haven't. He also had a cameo as a neurotic lawyer in Sh**ting Stars, and one as a serial killer in Signal :-D
I raise my hand from the "I'm not bored, but I still might drop" crowd. I like the characters (weirdly except LJS?), and the drama thus makes me *very sad*. But as I struggle to make myself put on episode 11, I feel like it's too real life for me. If I want a story where everything is a compromise, and even then I will still end up constantly arguing with selfish people, I have my life
