He apologised because the situation has caused an inconvenience. The letter never said he was accepting the rumours that were going around. And about the agency's statement, yes it did say whatever you posted but again they never confirmed nor denied anything.
The movie has so many twists, each surprising and unpredictable, and I guess those are what make the movie so interesting. In spite of some of the reviews I went ahead and watched it and enjoyed every bit of it. The entire cast did a good job. If you can't decide whether to try it or skip it, I suggest you give it a try.
