I remember Yang Zi have lot of haters. That's explain the rating go dip.
She doesn't deserve the hate because she seems down-to-earth and easygoing based on her previous cast members comments about her. It seems like the hate is from fanatics of other actors who find her continued success irritating.
Regarding how I feel about the three male leads so far:
Cang Xuan, as the main male protagonist, is beginning to intrigue me. I appreciate his complexity, and the actor's eye for acting is excellent. I don't ship him with Xiao Yao, but I can really sense their connection. Their last night sharing a drink of wine is very poignant.
Xiang Liu: I find him amusing when he is bantering with Xiao Yao. However, I cannot support his actions each time he assaults her physically. He is a devil at his very core. Despite the fact that he is a demon and only acts like one, I can tell he has feelings for XY.
Shi Qi is the only male lead who 100% worries for Xiao Yao. The hug they shared is full of sweetness, and I can feel his strong disappointment when his maid ruined that scene. Another thing is that he is really willing to be "Shi Qi" again so that he can take care of Xiao Yao. Who wouldn't fall for him? (The only thing I need for him right now is to be more open with her. He has the power to break her heart because she really likes him a LOT.)
btw don't get triggered just like yesterday there were a lot of comment saying jing is useless and boring like…
The reaction is pretty tame at the moment. I am pretty sure everything will be serious once the drama starts unraveling. It will be like Xu Feng vs. Run Yu all over again. LOL!
Same here. I will never like Xiang Liu even after his character develops or he sacrifices for her. He's too evil.…
I read that the original writer of the novel is working with the drama team, so maybe they won't make any deviation with regards to the drama ending. YaoJing is really popular with Chinese shippers, as per Weibo, so maybe it will be a consideration factor not to alter the ending of the series. *crossing fingers*

In this early stage, in terms of characterization, I am connecting Qiang Xuan to Li Chengyin in Goodbye, My Princess. Their thirst for power ruined their chance for a lifetime of happiness with their beloved.

I'm just here enjoying every episode and Yang Zi's phenomenal portrayal once again. The chemistry with the MLs is just a bonus for me. ✨
