Like girl, after The Untamed you should’ve learned when to just let go of projects. It’s gonna do more harm than good with a cult following for a novel like this.
The age of the characters doesn’t even matter to me it’s just it’s such a popular novel that it can really harm her career.
Meng Ziyi’s character was also supposed to be 14 at the beginning of Blossom novel and by the time she got married and had their first baby the ML and FL were 16-17, but in the drama they aged them up appropriately and honestly that didn’t affect much of the drama at all instead made them better.
But then again Blossom had one of the best script writers and director ever and i don’t think many or very very few drama’s can compare to how Blossom was written and directed. ( and they were even able to sneak in the rebirth concept without it getting censored)
So unfortunately , if this really is the cast , i hope this gets Blossom level of direction and script writing or else there is no saving it.
Poor MZY is already getting so much hate , idk why she even took this role up when she’s already doing Ba Hua Sha , the characters are very very similar even their names are “Shen Miao” “Shen Xihe” , they’re both general’s daughters.
But Shen Xihe is more brutal (she’s literally throwing people down mountains and leaving hundreds of snakes open in her enemies rooms) and the overall plot and side characters are more interesting and have more agency in that novel + the main leads are both lovers for 90% of the plot , so it’s winning in the romance department too.
So i genuinely don’t understand why MZY would slap her own face and choose a project like this which is bound to get her a lot of hate .
