Definitely agree with the idea that the writers had such a good opportunity for Dal Mi to end up with Han Ji Pyeong! The pilot episode seemed to set this up but as the story progressed it became clear that the male lead was in fact Nam Do San. Through the way the writer’s handled that in following episodes I understand why Dal Mi didn’t get with Han Ji Pyeong - the focus on relationship was never between Dal Mi and Han Ji Pyeong but always Dal Mi and Nam Do San.
I feel as though the frustration for viewers who were hoping for Dal Mi and Han Ji Pyeong to end up together comes from the way that Han Ji Pyeong’s character was introduced and was the focal point of the first episode. The audience, like myself, wanted that pay off for this character as we’d already formed that emotional attachment to him.
