And if we call them out, then they play the victim, saying that they waited for 2 years for an MA project and Shine was marketed as one, but they didn't get as much screentime as SonEuro, that the makers weren't even interested in TanwaTrin's storyline, and interpret it as themselves feeling betrayed. This doesn't even warrant what they are doing to Pond and Ning atp! I am not such a huge fan of Pond, but I can't stand the harassment Pond faced, especially when he reasoned that he wanted more eps and wants a second season, but it was too expensive, and that he's planning to publish a book as a closure to Shine and TanwaTrin. And these fans were literally upset when writers were explaining everything, and that storylines are left to interpretation, and interpreted this as the writer's incompetence. Someone on Twitter who does a lot of very good analysis on Shine and TrinTanwa at one point got hogged at and said that they don't watch dramas to make academic papers like...these people never opened Tumblr! I remember reading a lot of fan meta on KinnPorsche that was fascinating to me. And all kinds of art are open to interpretation. And the best part is that MA don't even care about SonEuro getting more attention than them! They still have great camaraderie with them. Euro and Peter attended the award ceremony where Mile won an award, and they even have photos together! It was the same with VegasPete, who also got a lot of attention, and still, MA are besties with Bible (not Build, cuz fuck him!), and they would happily give up their performance slots in KPTW so that other actors shine. MA didn't work for free for this, and it doesn't take away from the fact that they're still very proud of this project.

Lmao, exactly, even though Pond and Apo already clarified things in their livestream. Heck, people were even spreading hate messages on Pond IN HIS LIVESTREAM. And Ning already clarified things, and it turned out to be a misinterpretation, and things were lost in translation. Whatever, it's the end result and the actors' interpretation of their characters that matter the most, since Apo and Peter's interpretation of their characters is final for the end result. It doesn't take away from the fact that Apo and Mile are really proud of how the project turned out, and they'd happily give more screentime to the supporting cast, with whom they have very good camaraderie.

Unfortunately, the toxic minority are loud asf and they're ruining the experience. Sure, they're a minority, but Twitter, being the shit platform it is, brings more focus to toxic content. I'm pretty sure Tumblr is more sane in comparison, or even this comment section, but that doesn't take away from Apo saying that screentime isn't important, and that they would happily share more screentime to make their content shine.

Yes, I've seen such drama on Twitter, and I'm more disappointed and frustrated with them. Criticism on how it should have ended and TrinTanwa's development is fair enough, but that doesn't mean you go on hounding the makers of the series, where 8 episodes is the most they could make! Pond even said that he wanted more eps close to the amount KinnPorsche had, but dramas like Shine are really expensive, and you'd need a GMMTV amount of money to actually make more eps for a drama like Shine (if only GMMTV took their art seriously instead of being money-minded lmao). Pond also wants a novel for more closure, and even said that he wants to make a second season but doesn't have the means to. I get being disappointed at how TrinTanwa were written as, but to me, even though LertRan seem more dominant, TrinTanwa have always been the main couple, and after having more discussions with fellow, more level-headed fans, it couldn't have ended any other way.

Ikr and they're literally blaming the production company just because LertRan fans were being annoying but I still liked Son and Euro as actors, and that I saw nothing but amazing camaraderie between Mile, Apo, Son, Euro, Peter, and the rest. I remember seeing a snippet of an interview where the cast was asked that if he was in 1969, what would they miss. Euro responded with, "P'Mile" and I found that so wholesome!!

And yes your comment reminded me of GMMTV. If they were more caring of their art, and provided the resources they have, they would make top-quality series with many episodes. Too bad their resources are getting wasted because of fan-service and that they are a business first and care about what makes good money rather than what makes good quality art. I love Bad Buddy though. Might rewatch it sometime because I'm still reeling on Shine and it messed me up!

Exactly. I have more issues with the way it was marketed, but I appreciate the series the way it is, especially because it wasn't just a BL, but a queer series. This is one of the first that actually showed a vers/switch relationship and I love it. The actors also expressed against the top-bottom trope which I am tired of as a queer (tho ngl it was refreshing seeing Apo as a top lmao)

Ning couldn't disappoint me more. Thank god Peter and Apo had a better interpretation of their characters and honestly, I also saw it as a one-sided crush especially when Trin made it clear that he doesn't feel the same for Victor.

I feel more sorry for Pond. I don't like him, and he's a businessman in the end, but I feel that he's getting unfairly hounded at by fans to the point that he had to write a long ass tweet, and still fans were mad like please.

No worries. I like that you shared your opinions respectfully. I am more of a couple stan, and plus there was a week's gap between episodes, so most times I kinda forgot about Trin, but if I rewatch his scenes, then maybe I'll have a better understanding?

People also complained about Trin just being there and still when things around him were crumbling. Did they forget that Trin had an entire ass meltdown after Victor's death?! They just jumped on villainising him and calling him a hypocrite or out of character when him being still is what id call a shutdown. I'm nd and a shutdown basically means that a lot is going on but then you're just very still and you don't react. Trin didn't understand what to do at that point, and he probably wanted to clear his head and stay away from Thailand. And as much as I wish he had at least seen Tanwa before going, it isn't his responsibility to help him heal. Tanwa was already traumatised before he met Trin, and this was his breaking point. And tbf Trin was reliving his trauma as well. He didn't know how to process things and he seemed still. But it also happens to people irl. it also happens to me sometimes.

And im more than happy that instead of the cliche "partner saves the one" or whatever Tanwa worked on himself along with Sucha and Podeum, though I would still call him an abuser. Trin at that time also couldn't help him heal. But ngl he still played a role in Tanwa's life regardless, and vice versa. And yeah Trin said that Tanwa has to deal with things on his own, and Tanwa did.

exactly! it was so refreshing to see tanwa work on himself and to not sink into codependency. as much as he was suffering, that isn't to deny he was being codependent here. he had fear of abandonment and im glad sucha and his father helped him in healing. him completing his mother's book was what helped him heal the most!
