In the anime, Mafuyu's Song is actually episode 9 of 11 and there's an afterstory movie. The drama seems like it will leave out a lot, if you wonder why all of these characters don't seem relevant yet.

So after 5 episodes here are my casting opinions, as a huge fan of the Manga and anime:
Uenoyama: Still perfect, 10/10
Mafuyu: Has grown on me, 8/10
Haruki: pretty good, 7/10
Kaji: meh, 4/10
Yuki: excellent, 8/10
Ugetsu: pretty good, 7/10

The story tracks the anime pretty closely with some compression and dropped subplots. The music is different from the anime, I'm interested to hear a new take on Mafuyu's Song.
