You know US m/m fiction went through this phase of playing out abuse tropes that we had decided were problematic in het fiction and reined that in as a mainstream fiction element because we decided it was just as problematic to romanticize abuse of men. Like if people want to find noncon hot that’s fine but let’s not pretend it’s the basis for romance, consent is always important.
