I don't know about the novel, but in the drama till the ep 14 I have seen , i could see huaner is so much in love with xi chi , and if they make FL to be in love with another guy it will be awkward , I think that tian chi will be the one to propose to fl and he will used as jealous material to make ML realize his feeling for fl , i think if they by this logic it will good for audience like me

My personal opinion : I don't see any difference between a parasite and the ML , first of all a human should have self respect and in love it should be a mutual respect . But in this drama FL initiated the break up and the main leads meet after 8 years and FL trying her best to avoid ML initially and once the started cohabiting he is taking a small room and paying higher rent and giving furniture as gift and she not caring about it, and he cooking food for her and spending time with her to repel her loneliness in new year time than spending his time with his family , but she will not care whether he come to house or sleep somewhere and say that we are strangers under one roof and ML will give everything for her, If everything comes from one side and other side takes it for granted ,how it be called love. Nowadays i am seeing many cdramas have ML give everything for love and FL enjoy it like queen , sorry I am not a fan of it . It is not my cup of tea I am dropping
