Honestly I'm watching it because I don't know what else to watch atm but since I loved the original Jane the virgin…
You hit this right on the dot, I couldn't put my finger on what was the biggest issue and then you reminded me off the narrator! He was one of the best parts of the show and this version is missing it big-time. So far, this show pales in comparison.
I'm only mid-way through episode 1 but so far, the acting is bad and the pace is going lightning fast. I don't know if I can make it through, which sucks because I love the original Jane The Virgin and was so hopeful.
Slightly disappointed in the casting, I think the FML is normally a pretty good actress but her comedic timing is so off here. When they announced the casting, I wondered if she could handle a comedy role to this extent and so far, I think my worries were valid.. I think I'll stick it out until episode 2 and reevaluate.
I'm 3 episodes in right now and honestly i'm not sure how to feel about it. I dont like the way they portray suicidal…
This is definitely a valid point and they could have expanded on this more in the drama BUT I would say the goal is not cure people, it's to prevent the suicides. As we see after each case, the negativity percentage never goes to 0%, there is always some level negative thoughts or struggle left behind. We also know that this percentage fluctuates, it goes up and down; it's very possible that someone could relapse.
I think for the show's case, it does its best to remain true to the plot of saving people but also letting us know, these people are not cured (since we have yet to see that 0%). I think it's a very real drama tackling subjects not commonly presented in kdramas, it's very good but I understand if you can't finish.
