But I disagree with your last sentence. Mostly.all RJL dramas aside from Love & Crown usually have excellent writing with coherent plots. Thats the reasons I'm a fan. His dramas.tend to have higher quality than other idol dramas.

Its also explained why among idol.actors, his dramas' Douban ratings are consistently on the higher side.

The drama has such great detail. And all the missing chapters have reasons for it to be that way. Once you connect the dots, it made complete sense.

How come this drama's rating dropped 0.3 on 21/09/2026 in merely 1 day with barely increase of raters (180 raters at the moment)? It was around 164 raters when its rated 8.0/10 two days ago.

This is why I hate MDL. Brilliant & quality dramas like this will get low ratings while mindless romance get the highest scores in this site. That is why everyone think MDL ratings are jokes. They build this kind of reputation on their own.

I agree. To show emotions while acting as cold characters are harder to do than playing expressive characters. Its one of the hardest skills to master for actors. But RJL did that kind of roles effortlessly.

The douban score is 6.9 which is high for idol costume dramas. Most XianXia dramas usually get lower score at Douban (lower 5). FCY getting 6.9 is indication that it got good story and acting.

Mostly all toxic comments are water armies. This is very normal for popular traffic actors' dramas. Especially when you read their comments, its all have the same 'wordings'. Some very obvious that they didnt even watch the drama.

1) Not being able to sleep/rest
2) Cant see colors
3) Cant feel pain
4) Taste everything like rot
5) Has a lust for blood and human flesh

He wants to feel alive so he is going through this process to become human. He just need the marriage bond to help him through this human transformation.

Someone already told you H&R only used RJL name to sell this drama. This drama is the vehicle for the agency to promote their other actors. The biggest victim here is RJL himself but that is what he gotta do to leave this terrible agency.

And no, all the cool fighting scenes are for him. FL always fainted everytime she started to fight lol

Probably the best XianXia drama Ive seen in recent years? The drama actually focus on cultivaton part of XianXia drama and the road to be deity.

The drama explores on many ethical and philosophy topics. I actually impressed on how the writer incorporates many modern problems in the story. So many depth in the plot and characters even the supporting actors.

And so many interesting characters! They all exist beyond the leads. And finally a mature communicating leads in XianXia dramas. Color me surprise lol

I understand why people said Ren Jialun picked great scripts. I certainty can see the patterns in his dramas.

Only the last fight is easy since he is so powerful as the perfect war demon. At that time, no one can match him in term of power.

Great drama. I rarely said a drama is great but this one truly is. A true enemy to lover story where both want to kill and hate each other. Very well written, logical with clever political schemes.

And the best parts, all the 3 main characters are super smart and complex. They don't need to nerf anyone so everyone got great character arcs.

I highly recommend everyone to read analysis on the drama to appreciate it even better. So much details in the script that I didnt notice until people pointed it out. So much layers in the script. Its mind blowing.

Beautiful message, phenomenal acting and great chemistry by the leads and very well structured drama that every arc is important to tell us the next plot development. No filler scenes as everything has meaning. We should have more dramas such as this.

Also, those flashback are important so we know what happened. This is why some MDL comments are so mindless. Some people inability to understand dramas are suprising.

Actually, if you watch more, you will change your opinion completely by episode 10. ML is flawed and he is so desperate to free his people that he didnt mind hurting innocent people. But this drama made him learnt his lesson the hard way. By episode 10, you will get what I meant

And they didnt ruin the 2ML. Just like the leads, he have great character development and arcs. He has lot of screen time too.

This drama is truly enemy to lover drama since both ML and FL trying actively killing each other. And the script is really amazing.
