Have you watched a Korean drama before? Because the FL being more-than-believably childish. naïve and innocent…
I see our perception of how he acts is very different and that's great.
Though I find how he acts/ what he likes off-putting, I will recognize that it's probably just down to personal preference from my side as I still can't pinpoint exactly what I find so off-putting.
I didn't have this feeling watching Good Doctor, so I don't think it has to do with her being on the spectrum, and if it is: shame on me.
I do like her character a lot and agree with your points on what makes her remarkable.
I think your take on it does give me a new perspective which I appreciate. Thank you Jvinhpham

Hi, lime, thanks for your reply. Yes I've seen Kdramas before. I do generally agree with your statement. I'm glad we see eye to eye on that I'm really glad you are liking the show and appreciate her directness. I too, like that she is very honest and direct. I took the time to reply to IM YourOnlyOne above. My issue is less with the FL and more with the ML reaction or actions towards her.
It's hard to explain without additional context. So allow me to ask, what are the things that made Young Woo appear…
First of all, thank you for taking the time to reply and be willing to explain. I'm glad my post wasn't taken as a hate comment, as i really wasn't hating on the show. Also if you could take the time to correct me if I should refer to FL as autistic or has autism/autism spectrum disorder, I would greatly appreciate it.
Generally speaking, the discomfort lies more with the ML reactions and actions than the FL.
To me, the childish side of the FL stood out the most with the revolving doors and her dancing to go through them, and the ML finding that cute/funny and even being the one to suggest she dances in their work building.
Or her bringing up whales, which are her passion, and the ML seemingly only listening to them so she has someone to talk to and not because he is actually interested. Notice how he never asks any questions about what she says about whales. To me, it felt like what adults do with kids when a kid wants to show their knowledge on a topic but the adults don't actually care about said topic.
To me, how he over-simplifies how he speaks to her comes off more as him treating her like a child than as being direct/clear.
This last point can seem controversial, but her lack of social queues and awareness do resemble that of a child. I'm aware ASD makes these things hard and is a struggle, though I am not sure to what degree. My discomfort is how he finds it cute or attractive.
To counter my point. I'm well aware autism is on a spectrum, but people having savant syndrome are so rare from my understanding, so I'm glad the romance wasn't just based on her amazing memory impressing him.
I'd love to hear your opinion on this, and I'm hoping that if I have any misconceptions you can point them out. Always happy to learn and grow from these types of discussion
But the romance between the FL and ML seems extremely childish? To the point it makes me slightly uncomfortable on why he is attracted to her. Because she acts so innocently and naive like a kid? Can someone explain this to me, I feel I'm getting the wrong idea as most of you are enjoying the romance in this show.
Liked the show a lot. Shame some of the characters' tropes were damn right annoying though, Ended up playing on 1.5 speed the interactions with Oh Joo Hyung (husband of dermatologist) or the head of residence.
