On Burnout Syndrome Feb 26, 2026
Dew's performance here is going to serve as a cult reference to heartbreak in the future. The whole show is well done. Off, yet again creates a character who is lovably hateful. But, beyond everything good going on in this series, Dew's performance here reaches into the realm of truly outstanding.

It's rare that actors come so far so quickly in developing their depth, but he has truly come into his own in Burnout Syndrome. His performance here reaches through the screen so effectively and realistically you feel a little voyeuristic at times. That's when you know the acting has expanded beyond just play pretend and into the world of re-creating reality with their performance. Honestly, he's so honest, raw and good here I'm actually running out of descriptors. One of the best complements I think you can give an actors performance is if it made you feel. In truth, he's so good here I found myself on multiple occasions more than a little triggered about my own past relationship failures and regrets Please, look at his performance here and see that even down to the simplest gesture, his entire being conveys shattering crushing untethering heartbreak. Just the way he stands at certain points gives his wonderfully very messy character in this show more depth and gives us the audience a clear understanding of exactly who Pheem is down to his bones. There are some performances that I watch over and over again. Usually one or two scenes that simply just hit. Moments that are full of so much truth it wrecks you. Dews performance in Episode 9 of Burnout Syndrome is one of those moments. I can see myself coming back to this scene repeatedly in the future. Feeling his untethered confusion and crushing sadness, all conveyed in the hopeless little laugh and the ruffling of his hair.
I hope he knows how well he did here, and I look forward to seeing him push himself even further in the future.

This was really good! Do I wish for a little more comeuppance? Yes. But overall pretty darn good. I like this paring and would like to see it again. Would have liked the side characters to be a little more developed but for the most part it's a solid story with solid acting.
