When ep 9 finished I was so anxious after all tension and violence, then, out of the blue, the happy ending song "Hanabi". I was like "What the f. is this?" LOL At least Serizawa Kamo or Shibukawa Kihei are not singing the song with the group. LOL.

I read the spoiler. I was too curious about it and even closed the page to not see it and decided to return to read, as I was too curious to wait for the final episodes. I also suspected Daisaku had something to do with the enemy since that day Kyujuro was attacked by his father's assassin, Daisaku kept the distance instead of reach to save him and Kyujuro was saved by that mysterious man. I kinda thought they already knew each other. Later Daisaku was sword practicing and he said "We're not friends". But I am glad to read your comment that said Kyujuro didn't want to kill Daisaku because they became real friends later. Well, if Daisaku's death will have to happen, I hope they show they meeting after death in the series so we will have some comfort.
Hijikata and Kondo are a couple in my opinion. It seems Hijikata is often jealous of the interaction between Kondo and Serizawa. He is always checking on them or appear suddenly when they're talking in private. I also notice Serizawa x Shibukawa Kihei (maybe?). Though Serizawa is the only who seems to enjoy women in this series ...
so according to shoji kohei's twitter it is 20 episodes all together, which means 15 to go 😁
Oh! I thought it was only 10 eps and they are so short, to be honest, it is kinda fast. Although, I don't think much happened until ep 5. There's much more to go.
