I've seen a lot of comments about not connecting with the storyline or feeling an emotional separation from the characters. So far, the plot has moved along smoothly, but one must pay close attention to avoid missing any nuances. Sharing my observation. Hope this will help make the connect.
- In either episode 4 or 5, Charan mentions to Khanin in passing that his father may be alive, giving Khanin hope.
- As to Khanin's emotional detachment from his birth father, and vice versa, it is understandable. Imagine both are still adjusting to knowing each other's existence after being kept a secret by the King for 20 years. If they showed them emotionally interacting, it would appear much more bizarre. They're gradually bonding, which I appreciate, despite the sluggish pace.
- When Khanin mischievously kissed Charan for the first time during the pokky game, Charan became captivated. According to Emmaly's narrative, the people who kiss for the first time are lifelong soulmates. That was the beginning of Charan's feelings for Khanin.
- Khanin's sole connection to reality is Charan, hence he has become obsessed to the point of demanding Charan's undivided attention. He feels envious of Charan dancing with someone else at the ball. However, Charan understands the repurcussions and is attempting to distance himself, but Khanin refuses to back away because he has grown to trust Charan among the other strangers in Emmaly. So it's understandable that Khanin behaves like he does.
- As for not connecting with other characters, hopefully, episode 6 will provide more clarity when everyone's stories are presented, including Ramil and Paytai.

I've viewed over 50 Thai BLs and in comparison at least this one has a storyline. If you prefer ranch-style sex scenes in every episode, this BL is not for you.
