So, I know Haesang has some issues interacting with people but it bothers me how he just lets Sanyoung go when she needs him. Or when he knows it's the Ghost there, not Sanyoung.
In ep 9, after he finds her and the drawing of the moon, he just asks her a question and then... Peace out. In ep 10, girlie's hands are busted and the Ghost took over her body; and he just... lets her go. What if she went on another killing spree?
Not to mention all the times she's clearly distressed and he says nothing. I'm not expecting a heart to heart between them since they barely know each other, just some empathy from him. It's like he's so focused on getting rid of the Ghost that he forgets that Sanyoung is going through the same stuff he went through before.
The way I cackled from the cut of the older detective approaching the window, to the face of the new detective and them to the oldie falling through the window. That bitch (hongsan?) just stood there and did nothing, lmao.
Last week I complained about what's the role of Hongsan in the series, since Sanyoung and Haesang always manage to figure everything out without his help. I guess that this last episode Hongsan finally proved himself useful by analyzing the Ghost's personality (which I confess I wondered why none of the two MCs havent done that already). But like all the things he did so far, Sanyoung managed to figure the important things without his help (ie that the Ghost isn't Mokdan).
I also wasn't affected by the oldie detective death because I don't think the show have managed to convey to us how important he was to Haesang BEFORE his death.
I'm trying to find out what's the dude detective role in this series. Is he here only for some romantic tension? Because I feel that he's pretty useless ngl. His scenes so far have added nothing to the story.
- his past with Sanyoung: hasn't added anything substantial to the main plot. They weren't friend nor lovers in high school and didn't keep contact after high school; - him trying to solve that murder so he could get a promotion or something: didnt mean anything. In the end, the person who solved it was Sanyoung and Haesang; - acting as a spy for evil granny: Woojin's father would've been better off offering that money to any other cop because, at least, he would've gotten some information about the cases the old detective are looking into. He doesn't know anything about Haesang or his relationship with the old detective anyways. - getting the files for Sanyoung: I doubt three rich kids committing suicide in a private school wouldn't have gotten any media at all. She probably could've gotten the same end result (ie finding out that Woojin never offed himself) by googling it. If both 2 MCs managed to find files about a shaman from some renamed countryside from the fifties, then I'm sure they could find out what happened in that school at the 90s. - his biggest contribution so far has been getting Sanyoung into the school, but by the Principal's reaction, I think that even without him there, he would've opened up for the simple fact that Sanyoung "knew" Woojin.
His contributions could change later in the series but, so far, I'm skipping his scenes because I know that Sanyoung and/or Haesang will find out the same things anyway.
KBC is so good at his role that, despite counting the hours for Jeongsuk to finally divorce Inho and crash his balls with 9 inch heels, I can't truly truly hate Inho. How good an actor must be to make you dislike a piece of trash, recognize the char is a piece of trash, and yet, not feel actual hatred for him?
I liked it, but I don't know if I loved it. The cynic adult inside me thinks that those are just empty words,…
They also could've used the opportunity to encourage looking for a psychologist/doing therapy. Their intervention doesn't feel long term! πππππ
I liked it, but I don't know if I loved it. The cynic adult inside me thinks that those are just empty words, no different than telling a sad person to just be happy? This feeling intensifies because we don't get to see the aftermath of their intervention, so it feels like they go there, say a few words and puff! everything is alright now. We know it's not like that; it takes time to heal and you're gonna have to go through lots of lows in this struggle.
At the same time, the kid who was once in these characters's situation inside me recognizes the power that having someone who understands you, has; and how a few words of empathy can mean the world when you're down.
It's fiction, I know... But i can't help but want to nitpick it πππ

Hongsae: me too
Bitch, the Ghost doesn't even know your name, why would she care about u?

Is he gonna be the villain, I wonder? I was hoping for some bromance between him and L
