I always think that you are meant to like the ML's in drama's, hoping that they will split up or one will die…
I just love how you express yourself. That was the funniest way to plan someone's death scene.

Your review also lacks somehow. How can you not get that he didn’t rape? It was sexual assault at its best with…
I don't want to be rude, but I suspect you're a man. That's why it's much easier for you to set aside the rape and say he was only guilty of sexual assault because he was a co-perpetrator and he filmed it. Try to imagine how you would feel if that was your mother, your sister, or your girlfriend. Would you be making comparisons like sexual assault and co-perpetrator or would you simply want the person to be punished? Also, I had no problem with how he got away with the crime because of a good lawyer -- because that could happen, only that later in the show they portrayed him as one of the good guys. That he was somehow a better/changed character even though he never paid for any of his crimes and barely even showed regret. I don't know why you have a problem with my rating being at 6.5 ... that's what I felt it deserved. Also, I might give something a 9/10 and still not think it has much rewatch value. Sometimes, once you've seen it, you've seen it and you don't need to see it again. That doesn't change how much you liked it, just that you wouldn't watch it again because you already know what's going to happen. That's just my opinion, other people are allowed to have other opinions, as you obviously do.

Review The Promise
I only watched a couple of episodes and there was no real questions or answered during those episodes, but later…
I agree. He didn't leave because he was in love with his best friend, that was an excuse. He left because he couldn't handle loving his best friend and risking his heart. He took the easy way out without even thinking about his friend's feelings. I've known people like that before. One of my friends once told me that he ghosted his best friend because he was in love with him but he knew the best friend would never feel the same. I can imagine that the pain and uncertainty of being left behind would be terrible. You might wonder what is wrong with you that your friend ghosted you. But in this case, I do appreciate that they are real people with real faults and insecurities. And I love that they have to learn to face themselves and each other eventually.

Review The Promise
He actually didn't ignore it, he did ask questions, but he never really pushed for answers or got upset when those answers presented themselves. Again, you aren't wrong, but I completely disagree on how I feel about it. I love this series and want to watch it again. I love the way that you explained how you felt about this series, because you identified with the one that got left behind you really couldn't accept how he allowed someone to hurt him. I think it's beautiful that you have such empathy.

Another review where we completely disagree on how we felt about it, but nothing you disliked was wrong. I guess I chose to look at things differently. I have such low expectations for BLs now, it's like if I can just get something that doesn't make me hate it, than I'm all for the show. Yes, it's the exact same story over and over, just torn apart, renamed, and spit back out in a different order, but in some ways that's comforting. I would rather have a simple predictable story than something really amazing and new but also crass and ugly. My problem is that a lot of what I see ends up either being a little boring or too crass and ugly. Why are there so few options? Anyway, though we disagree (because I like this series), your reasons for not liking it are correct. And I love your reviews, all the time you're making me laugh with your observations.
Rich Sep 23, 2025
As I've been reading your reviews, I see how often we completely disagree on a series. This one was one of my favorites. I chose to think of the straight to gay ML as confused, since he didn't realize that the always gay ML had real reasons for wanting to stay in his own world without help from his family or notice from others. He had a bad taste in his mouth from the previous love affair and was hiding. When straight to gay ML realized that he would be hurting this person that he had grown to love, he felt bad and wanted to change. This is what I call character growth. They both have some, which makes me giddy in a BL (really not enough growth or development in BL stories overall). Our opinions are on totally opposite ends of the spectrum and yet, you aren't wrong. Everything you said was true, but you hated it and I loved it.

Review Wedding Plan
I got through episode 1, realized what it was about and dropped it. I can't tell you how much I love this review. It just made me laugh so much with it's honesty and getting to the heart of the situation.

I agree with you completely about the attraction of an actual plot and a satisfying character arc. Korean BLs…
I have seen My Personal Weatherman and really enjoyed. Our Dining Table is on my list to watch. I haven’t heard of Restart After Come Back Home at all, so thanks for the recommendation. I will definitely give it a shot.

I almost can’t blame him for that. From what I know of Turkey and the Muslim population, that is pretty much what they teach. If that’s how you’re taught, that will be how you respond.

I didn't get as far as to see anything from the secondary couple, but I'm not surprised it also had such a storyline,…
Mame is one scary person. I'd apologize for her on behalf of my gender, but I've decided it would be better not to claim her instead.

Review Big Dragon
Thank you so much for a good review with explanations and reasonable logic. I was wanting to see this because it looked sexy as hell, but thankfully you've saved me the trauma.
Sid S Nov 17, 2022
The secondary couple is also non consensual sex because they had sex the first time when Prapai caught Sky at the race and told him that he wouldn't let him get away (basically let him be killed or beaten by the guys who run the illegal races) unless Sky slept with him. There was no couple in this drama that wasn't a bad relationship. I'm actually a straight cis woman, so the target audience might have been me but they were way off course where I am concerned.

Finally someone else agreeing, I see so many complimenting this drama, they really tricked me into starting it,…
It does seem crazy that we get so much of that. Non consensual sex is taken as normal and fine, but in real life it's offensive and disgusting. I recently read a story on Wattpad (or started but didn't complete) ... where a woman was raped (like literally raped, he forcefully took her virginity and hurt her physically and then brushed it off like it was nothing), but later he "sees the error of his ways" and begs for her forgiveness and marries her. I didn't stick around for all the crap, as soon as I read the rape scene and I knew she was going to marry him anyway, I stopped reading. I can't stand that kind of story. Even if he sacrificed his life to make up for raping her, it still wouldn't be enough. Forgiveness is all fine and good, and I believe it helps the victim more than the perpetrator, but I forgive and tell you to get the f*** away from me. No way am I going to date someone who raped me. Sorry, I know, tangent, but this subject just makes me want to get out my soapbox.

Review Ai Long Nhai
Hey, Thank you for your comment, I actually agree with it in part. I think we have all gone out to a club at some…
I love what you just said. Actually, when you explain it that way, it not only makes sense but helped me make the connection. I don't know that I exactly agree, but I get what you mean and I feel like your point holds true. Too many BL series have been blurring those lines and trying to make toxic relationships sound romantic. What makes it worse is that it seems like as fans, we started to accept it. When I told one of my friends that I didn't like KinnPorsche because I felt like Kinn raped Porsche, he spent like 2 hours trying to change my mind. Eventually, he started to see what I meant, but when I told him that I thought BLs needed to be held to a higher standard, he told me that he wouldn't stop watching crappy BLs because that was all that was available. Like he just gave up on expecting anything better. And he's right. There is so little out there that is available and doesn't involve some kind of toxic relationship, that I understand his feeling. I just don't know how to change it other than to refuse to support the crap. I'm on Wattpad, if you're putting a story out there for free. If not, let me know where you post because I'd love to read your BL drama when you finish.

Review Ai Long Nhai
I'm not trying to argue your view on rape. I hate rape and I hate forced, non-consensual scenes that try to make it seem like love. Tharntype, Love In The Air, KinnPorsche -- I could go on and on about the number of times I've wanted to smack writers who apparently don't understand that rape is NOT okay. Anyway, I'm guessing you are considering the sex between Nhai and Ai as the rape scene. I just wanted to discuss how you viewed the story. In my opinion, Nhai (the dumb one) was drunk but I believe he actually did know what he was doing, since his conscience made him feel guilty right afterward. He wasn't upset and feeling used, he was upset because he believed he had ruined his friendship with Ai by sleeping with him. I'm not sure if the writers intended Nhai to be too drunk to consent or if they thought that Ai telling Nhai he would stop if Nhai wanted was enough to signal consent. I think the mistake the writers made in this was not making it clear that Nhai wasn't drunk and was consenting. I agree that sleeping with someone who may or may not have been drunk is stupid and leads to a whole litany of problems. If the writers had been smart enough to not make it a time when Nhai was drinking, but rather a time when he was emotional and leaning on Ai, the consent wouldn't have been an issue. I would love to hear your comments about this.

Regardless, thank you for your review. I think it's very valuable to share ideas on series. Especially when there are so few BL series in comparison, I would want writers to be better at their job and actually try to portray good relationships. I hate that BLs have really fallen into this category of either mostly porn with terrible relationships or love stories that are totally predictable and cliche.

I feel the same. If no one cared about gender, maybe everyone would be bisexual. I mean, I've found women attractive, even though I identify as straight. If a woman had a personality that clicked with mine, maybe I would fall in love with her. Maybe I should say I'm pansexual, though I do tend to like the male body more as far as what I am attracted to. It would certainly be a kinder and more fair world if no one considered gender or race when making decisions -- either romantic or even in business. Unfortunately, we are so far from that, it may be my great great great great grandchildren before we have that world.

I hadn't heard that about him. I had just heard all the hate comments. So glad to hear that he's doing well at what he wants to do. I always think people get way too upset about off hand comments. Of course, some people said some horrible off hand comments about women and got told off but are still loved while people who made horrible off hand comments about not wanting to work in BL anymore get hated forever. A little bit of a double standard if you ask me.

I never really understood that "I'm straight, I just love one guy," attitude. If you can fall in love with one man, there is a possibility you could fall in love with any man. You just haven't met any other man that you like ... yet. Then again, I kind of have the opinion that everyone could possibly be bisexual under the right circumstances, so maybe I'm crazy.

Sorry, I guess that wasn't clear at all. I heard a lot of bad things about the actor Joong ... something about him telling everyone that he didn't want to act in BL series anymore and some people saying he was homophobic. Honestly, though, I don't know if that meant he was homophobic. Maybe he just meant he wanted to expand his acting ability and not work in the same area all the time. I think that we should give actors the benefit of the doubt. They are young and mistakenly say some stupid things. Seems like some of them get forgiven easily and some of them don't -- for reasons I don't really understand.

I heard so many bad things about him personally and the series got some low reviews based on just being a fluffy love story — but that was exactly what I liked about it. Sometimes I want more action and sometimes I just want the feels, if you know what I mean.

You're welcome. People usually hate or love my reviews, based on their own feelings on the show. Honestly, I can't say it's a horrible story if all you want is a sexy show with not much else, but it just isn't my personal preference. If you're looking for a fluffy BL with no red flag relationships (minus a side plot that never gets resolved between a support character and her abusive boyfriend), you might try "Star In My Mind." I really enjoyed it and it was simple and sweet.
