So far he gave in to the bad guys because he has no hoice as he wants to protect his father and family clan ... from my limited understanding. He is sort of weak but a good guy for now. He quickly shot ChangGe at the bridge first to save her life. If HaoDu shot her, she would have been dead now. My guess is that he is in love with ChangGe while ChangGe cousin is in love with him and HaoDu is in love with the cousin.

I find Leo is more attractive and matching to Dilraba in his Ashina sun outfit and hairstyle than Tang dynasty style. The Tang dynasty style makes him look soft and young whereas Ashina Sun style gives him the rugged edge that really suits him.

I was enjoying this till the FL keeps behaving outrageously and no respect for ML privacy and no manners. Who does yoga in middle of night just because she can't sleep and then quarrel with ML saying he us the one who is unreasonable? Erhmm...she is the one who trespass into his property without permission. She is annoying like shit. For someone in her 20s who is supposedly work and study and support herself etc, she doesn't seems to have any sense of maturity at all nor grateful. She used her good guy friend and ML to her advantage.

The drama would have been better if their balance out the FL character.

The soccer match was beautifully executed! Wow! Love the choreography of the match with Dilraba and Leo in it. It really makes the viewers heart pumping in excitement.

Hahaha...the scene where Ashina Sun tried to pull the arrow out and then realised ChangGe is a girl. He blindfold to keep her modesty intact but wad caught off guard by ChangGe. Can see his full admiration for ChangGe ... even his loyal guard looked in awe when ChangGe just pulled out the arrow by himself.

Pretty interesting drama but needs sub to better understand what's going on on the political scene. All I hear is "your highness here and there..." so lost in who is who especially the older male characters. I even get confused by their faces. Am I the only one who got confused by the older men faces? Lol

The only scene i didn't like was the comic stripes added to the exciting moments where Chang Ge fell into the river ... that was a bit of anticlimax.

Nope. Not time travel. U will know what's going on at the end of the series.

Esp the part where ST was desperately reaching out to QF who was running like crazy to her ... the song played, the lyrics was so poignant and on point of QF/ST. The petals slowly flutter away.

Oh my ... ep 27 is so heartbreaking. The ending of ep 27 is so breath-taking beautifully done ... the emotion, song, lyrics, cinematography... just wow!

Just watched up to ep 26.
I have questions:
- how come QF ancestor can suddeny become a man from a tree?
- if he is a tree species like ST, why he doesn't have power like ST to protect himself and family?
- how did BY knows that QF great grandfather is a tress species and his descendants blood can revive ST?

I personally enjoy this drama very much. It's a change from love at first sight, weak female character etc. This drama shows how a couple who got to know each other slowly after the arranged marriage and fall for each other fir their strength and character. To me, it's worth the watch.

It all depends on what you like.

Probably people voting it down without watching it and declare it as boring. Haiz ...

I have seen some other drama got voted higher because it is Idol drama and the drama is not as good as this. Sadly most of the Idol drama get voted up by fans not because the drama is good

This is different from it and way more interesting than the fake country in crisis in DOS.
Leads are both on same par of thoughts and supportive of each other. Hospital story and the police story are very much real and relatable.

Their giggles are so infectious. At times I can't tell if it is supposed to be like that or their natural reaction to the scene and script and the director decided to keep it as it is as he too finds them too adorable. MiKa n XKL are like teenagers in love. Too adorable.

Naturally...he is a pretty man with luscious lips. Hahaha

Why the drama is called Rattan?
It's because the main character SiTeng is a rattan. A Vine plant that we use to make canes (for old people or to discipline children in Asian households) or makr rattan furniture or baskets.

I have not watched the latest episodes yet. Did writer explain how QF ancestor became human from a tree? How did they found out that he is 1/4 tree?
Is that why he looks like tree when he tried to runaway from her at the beginning. Because his face did indeed look more like turning into wood/bark than a skeleton.

Catch up to ep 26. Like the way how writer resolved the conflict between Mika & YanShan. Yanshan quit her job out of shame.
YanShan mom fell sick n found to have a problem with her brain. Mika was rope in to assist in the surgery. Yanshan mom didn't know that her daughter quit her job n both Mika n that guy covered up for her. Yanshan mom is so trash ... now we know why Yanshan has a massive inferiority complex about her. Gosh her mom is horrible ... screaming at her, degrade her totally as if she is worth nothing, not even her achievements & her hardwork. Then her mom saw Yanshan in action in an emergency situation trying all her might to save a fallen guy in hospital. That actually opened her mom eyes and realised how wrong she was of daughter.
Mika was asked to continue to operate on Yanshan mom alone after the chief surgeon was called away on an emergency case and she did her 1st solo surgery with success. Yanshan came to know about it and thank Mika. She finally apologised to Mika for all her wrong doing and acknowledged Mika's skill and capabilities and is a better doctor than her and fully deserved all the respect. Mika forgives her (don't think Mika would have forgiven her if she hadn't apologised sincerely). I think that's a really nice end to it.
