Can anyone remind me why her mother didn't want to take care of her daughter, was it cause she got remarried and…
Not sure about the uncle yet but as far as I understood, the dad died, the mom gets to know her now husband during the funeral, they get married, the mom moves together with the new husband and his spoiled rotten brat Kexin (or whatever her name was) but Wen Yifan wanted to be with her grandmother first. Granny unfortunately died after some time and Yifan tried to live together with her mom and the other two. BUT she had to move out again because that spoiled rotten brat couldn't stand Yifan. Mom felt sorry for Yifan but said that she will be in good hands with the aunt.
Kdramas where the FL is morally grey and acts as a villainess are always great. Lovey-dovey FLs are also nice but it just doesn't give me the adrenaline like with this one.
By targeting the husband she will indirectly cause the downfall of the scum who killed her dad. If she wins the husband's heart and make him divorce his wife the divorce settlement will cost the wife's family 1,6billion US-dollar. Thus, she wants to 1. ruin the family's reputation (in the beginning we saw just how much the mistress controversy spread around and caused a ruckus) and 2. somehow make the family bankrupt through the divorce (though I don't think 1,6billion will make the family bankrupt like they are the richest family in korea so idk). I don't know if she will plan other things as well but she worked 13 years on this so certainly she must have a plan.
I just finished episode 7 and I must say I don't get all the complaints about Rowoon's acting. I find it natural enough to be convincing. It's fun to watch him act and it doesn't break the kdrama sphere like it doesn't disturb how real the story appears.
Btw, spoilers for episode 7:
I can't stand the Ming dude there needs to be A LOT of convincing backstory to make me sympathize with him.
Completely fell for him in "The king's affection". He is so handsome and his smile really kills me everytime. I'm glad he is able to get big roles so he can show his talent as an actor. Kpop idols are usually prejudiced as talentless actors but he's totally killing it!!
Just finished episode 3 and I'm so addicted to this drama. The ML makes my heart flutter like crazy and I love the cold demeanor of the FL. Though. I must say the second lead is slowly starting to become a concern... I DON'T WANT ANOTHER SECOND LEAD SYNDROME!!
(The ML kinda gives me Song kang vibes, more reason why I love him so much Song Kang is my favourite korean actor ^^)
I've heard that he's pretty much cancelled from the Chinese censors due to political reasons, and it will be difficult…
My dad is his best friend and we just facetimed him today. As far as I understood he is still shooting dramas. Chinese people may have cancelled him but cancel culture has a short memory after a 2 years hiatus I think people have already forgotten the scandal.
