We probably wanted them to be more affectionate and tender with each other after being separated for so long, but this story is focusing on how he completely changed from a nobody to someone powerful. He became a serious guy, whose work consume most of his time. He loves FL still. FL is basically his whole drive & motivation in his life. Its just a different way of love.

Sorry if i missed it, but i need help to understand what happened to Commander Wang? I am at Ep 24 but have not noticed or seen him ever since Zhao Ling came back to capital. I remembered he brought Zhao Ling along for the war and promised to help him rise in ranks. Did he perished in the war?

I also found it so wholesome. In fact, i felt it more seeing the little boy Sen has grown up under Tingyun's care all this while and he never left her side either. To think that Sen started off with Zhao Ling first, through their tough times during salt-smuggling years, only to be with Tingyun all this while. Its so super wholesome!

I feel like a proud sister watching how Deng Enxi carry herself in this drama. Watched her in Melody of Golden Age and really really like her from then on.

The elegance she potrayed here as a noble lady is perfect. She showed this aura as someone gentle, beautiful, elegant, smart & confident. Her acting is good, pairing up with Ding Yuxi is just amazing. I am enjoying it.

I really love these kind of dramas where it focuses on the plot but writer will still insert some attraction between the leads. I find it sweet & fluttering. Lol. To each their own :p

Some example I could remember are dramas like "The Wonderfools" , "Beyond The Bar", "Revenge of Others" etc. The leads left me swooning over them haha!

This drama is no exception and Jisung is killing it with his head-tilting gestures & gazes lol

Yay! HMH is a good actor, has a likeable personality outside and a charming face. He also look very easy-going, chill & friendly. Not to mention he can sing & dance too. Truly an idol-turned-actor whom we are very proud of. Ive not seen him putting any airs around him or awkward in any way. Keep it up to HMH!

And Aimi is truly remarkable. I had doubts how this drama would fair with her being the lead, but she nailed it. Her acting is chef kiss! She seems shy in outside promotions since this is her first main role and being in the main limelight and all...but girllll, get used to it! More to come, I'm sure!

I am still at Ep 21 and delaying my time to watch the rest. But i keep peeping the reels in TT and i smell a very heart-wrenching end. Especially today's episode. I am contemplating whether to continue or wait. Urgh.

Unpopular opinion but i actually like it. Too long into the palace drama make it draggy. Also, the manageable number of episodes make it easy for me to re-watch. Lol.

I think he just thought that Xie Jiayu will remain loyal and wait for him. He took things for granted. But there were too many things happening. Its imposible for him and her to work out anyways. I cannot imagine Xie Jiayu living with Li Mao, with Grand Tutor (aka fake loving father) breathing down their neck. Eww.

You said it exactly. I was almost feeling exactly the same as you - worried that Li Mao will be heartbroken to see his bestfriend and sweetheart falling in love w each other. And yeap, now no longer too!

It is so refreshing to see the other 2 wives. This seems to be my first cdrama with wives being good and positive with one another. The way they look out for each another is so heartwarming. I hope it stays like that.

I understand these 2 wives have had their husband/lover in their lives before, having experience love with a significant other. But how could they resist having such a powerful, wonderful heroic figure as their husband currently? 🤣 In another arc, i will believe that at least 1 of the other wife might eventually fall for him, or at least have some jealousy. The current situation is too ideal 😅 Not that i am complaining. But really, how did they not fall for him?! Lol.
