And I just have to bring up this scene where the FL acted on her own to search for a missing person because it was so unrealistic and incredibly stupid. She KNEW and SAID the weather would worsen and it would be dangerous in a mountainous area, you'd expect her to inform her teammates first because they were just RIGHT THERE but yikes, off she went alone in a terrain she has never set foot on before.

Enjoyed the first episode but it just goes downhill after that. The editing is all over the place – one scene you have the SFL (?) and SML just knowing each other, the next they are talking like they are old friends. ML just got transferred into the fire department as the new vice captain and the first episode built this scene like there was gonna be some misunderstanding between the team and ML and ML actually had to work to earn the team's respect and trust but nope, ML just automatically gelled into the team. And thennn, they are suddenly celebrating a team member's birthday and his departure with no explanation at all.

Okaaaay.

Editing aside, this show also has the typical love plot for the third leads who hate each other's guts but actually want to bone is also a meh. To make it worse, they behave like 3-yo kids.

I think my major gripe with the drama is that the trailer gives off such an inspiring and action-packed impression but the episodes don't measure up at all. It just feels like a romance drama right now but I hope it will pick up because this is JunJun's first drama after his fame in WOH.

Tbh even in the novel Xiao Ge doesn't have a lot of scenes as well. They will meet again when Wu Xie goes to Lei Cheng. But I wish the drama would have added more scenes of our fav 3 instead of useless romance which doesn't even add to the plot.

Yeah another thing is they actually nerfed Hei Xia Zi here. Like damn, he's supposed to be on par with Xiao Ge.

The romance added in this adaptation is so goddamn awful especially that MV wannabe scene where they wasted 4 minutes of precious screentime to show them reminiscing each other. Gah, what a waste of Zhou Shen's song. The actor of Hei Xia Zi also does a poor job imo. His flamboyant acting isn't like the character at all. Hei Xia Zi in Sand Sea was perfect.

Just gimme more Wu Xie, Pang Zi and Xiao Ge please.

No worries! I love the books so it's nice to see people interested in the story. Yes, he can't see in the day without sunglasses because he's seen the secret, much like how ZQL also has a disability - memory loss.

He's definitely not part of the Zhang family. His real surname is Qi and a royalty of a Mongolian tribe and not related to the Qi family too (9 families). It's said he's seen the secret behind the door hence his undying ability.

I wish they'd just stop it. The tomb series needs no romance other than Tie San Jiao

It was never mentioned by the author what that secret is but personally I would think it has something to do with longevity and the knowledge of the world. This secret is behind a door/gate and every generation of the Zhang's protects it even though it's supposed to be protected in rotation by the 9 families.

Zhang Qiling is the last of a 'pure' Zhang and Zhang reshan is considered part of the extended Zhang family (not the same as ZQL).
