Listen. The brown and white hanfu she was wearing was very elegant and gave it a strange Victorian-esque style. I think she looks lovely in it. Hope she wears more skirt and blouse styles like that.
I also love how fast the ML is with falling in love with her. He gets turned on watching her do her stuff and it's so nice to see. He also remembers things she says! He studies her father's writings, he remembers she needed new gloves, he bought her a coroner's kit (and apologizes on the improper gift). ARP is playing this well and his dubber is helping too. And, he was like "why are you calling her by her name", "because she is no longer just a body" (and watched in rapt atention as she gave her a face and re-clothed her). That is RESPECT. Just. Ugh. I feel good things with him.
Just started episode 5. This is really, really good. After Moonlight Mystique, ARP has chosen a role that makes him commanding but also a total green flag for his girl. He and Landi have great chemistry. I'm also digging out other side relationship.
I work in the medical field so this is a treat for me - bonus watching women do it because there is a care and delicacy to the situation.

So, the way I took it is that the real world and the script world are a script within a script. That they can do whatever they want technically. I like to believe she leaves to film for three months, then comes back to the historical world.
After finishing this I feel like I watched something really special. I woke up going, oh no, no more episodes of this. I miss everyone and their chemistry with one another. I hope we get fanfiction up the wazoo. (I also hope we get an interview with the scriptwriter.)
There is so much I want to say about this show, but coming from this white gal from the US, this show is like the Hollywood films I grew up with. There is so many things that reminded me of my favorite movies from my youth and as an adult with the lens of Chinese sprinkled in.
But, I think what I really liked was that the storyline had such an interesting duality to it when it comes to CGH and NH. Two people who were polar opposites yet the one who fell to the darkside was the one who started out good. And the culprit was destiny and trying to change fate. CGH from his perspective had points on why he was doing what he was doing, but he took it to the extreme. Their fight at the end was intense - if you noticed, NH embraced both parts of him the LSL and NH (he wore LSL's bracer). CGH gave up any sort of rationality and hope of getting out of it, and damned himself to be the villain. Since the was to way out of this story, he created a way out by offing himself.
I like to think that we never left the script, and that the ending is open for more adventures - maybe in a different world, different script, different plot. But that we saw the female lead return to her world to film, wondering if NH was the NH from her fictional world in the dresser chair, and it wasn't. Yet, he discovered a way out and he can visit her too - he talks to the scriptwriter, who is to say that the scriptwriter wrote in plot point that says "a portal opened up and it allowed NH to enter into the real world". It appears that the script writer can still do things just can't control their lives per se.
I loved all the supporting characters and their outcomes! Give it up to Fugui though? I mean, this guy is 100% Hollywood comedy material and his bromance with YLN is spot on. They work so comfortable with one another that I really want to see them do a modern day comedy. Or please bring him back in other big traffic shows?
All in all, this show is gold. I really, really hope they realize the screenwriter is a gem and they have her write another original story. Kudos to everyone. I won't forget this one for a while! Also: NR and the maid getting a cute ending is adorable. Girl can get it!
CGH becoming a great villain was not what I expected seeing. You called him wild and I feel like it was very good…
That's why we need him in more! Everyone did a bang up job in this. What I love about CGH is that he is a humane villain who wants to do what they are doing, but he is letting his hurt and anger get the best of him.
Omg. Ep38 is so damn good? Remember how Harry and Hermionie went back in time with the time turner? As much as China can't do time travel, this is some good use of it. I love it.
