Jiamin is totally sus Luili, but she is not quite sure why. I'm excited for when Luili comes open to her new little band of trusted people about her fake illness.
I really think the fun bits are going to start happening in the next 12 episodes. We have established the key players and given them plot lines and issues, now we wait for them all to start working together. People who are dropping the raiting are being a bit cruel. :/ This ain't Chong Zi. We're gonna start focusing on the villain.
Ahhh! Look at that! He is actively sliding her makeup to make her look frail. He already has become an assistant in her ruse. I think it is so cute that he likes her but is super shy when it comes to pda. But, you can tell he lowkey wants his badass queen from his youth to no longer have to pretend around everyone.
genuinely don’t know whats happening story wise i’m just here for the entertainment that is our lead couple
So someone can do detail cleanup:
Crown Prince (Jeremy) is unsure if she is a friend or foe. Our lady has heard that everyone is out to get her and her family. So she decides to lay low by pretending to be meek and frail because how can you hate someone like that? Jeremy finds this fishy as fuck because her family and the letters told a way different Hua Liuli. Since the Emperor / palace ain't big fans of her, by default she thinks he isn't a big fan of her either.
Those ministers do not like the Hua family and are constantly trying to get rid of her or prove to the King the Hua family are the worst... just they keep failing. Meanwhile, Crown Prince knows there are assassins out to get him but also out to get the Hua family. He is not here for it and wants to find who is trying to off him and who is out to get them both. Our lady does not technically want to stay but at the same time if she has to she is trying to show support to her family and people, since the talk is rising to merge the two countries. Jeremy has now roped her into running for title that she was trying to press on him.
Basically, the title Royal Rumors is a lean into the faults that come from believing rumors and using rumors to ones advantage. Both are trying to lean on rumors to keep them at a distance from their goals, but it will either backfire or they will just lean into it together to benefit their situations (which I think is starting to happen, since he knows she is faking it and she knows that he is too smart to believe her bs - notice she stopped coughing and pretending to be weak around him).
In Episode 8 when the Dowager / Her Highness was asking Hua Liuli about the Prince, and her [Hua Liuli] and the Crown Prince both had the inner reaction of 'he is so stupid' I died. More of these moments where they just share the same reactions.
I love that the younger Prince sees him as a wolf and she is a cute lil cat. Ugh. I can't wait for them to be living the life together with Fafa as their lil baby.
Girl. Same. Oh my god. He does this thing with his head when here he smirks and kind of tips his head back in…
YES. You know it! That exact gesture just sends me spiraling!
GIRL. We are so shamelessly thirsty for him it ain't funny.
My eyes were just fixated on his hands. Like, I always pay attention to what his hands are doing. They had a carriage scene in Episode 5 and I was watching him drum his fingers.
